I love this one.... extremelly powerfull into the basses, and special into the voices..uses a very interesting idea into the differential... a very different amplifier compared to the Standard and HRII, having some qualities from both of them.
Will be hard to me to believe you dislike it.... i think you're deeply sad as had to abandon the lovely unit (very well built) into your friend's home...i think you are spelling bloody tears because missing the unit.

There's a filter, but all Dx builders are allowed to enter the in box..filter disable to all builders.

Turning the transformer upside down you gonna keep all that wiring hidden
Will look even better...also running board's connecting wires from bellow the board, will keep them distant from our eyes too.. they can travell inside dark tubes, or plastic tubes with the chassis colour.
This way people will think this came from a factory, not a DIY amplifier, so professional it will look.
Those boards are wonderfull... they look great... wonderfull work Nordic did, and also i had to figth a lot, was very hard work, to have it this way.
I am proud of this...some ideas from me and the main work into the boards from Nico.... resulted the second most beautifull board made by forum folks...i think only Jan Dupont could do it even better.
The next Aksa amplifier will have wonderfull boards too..better than those blue ones.

I have no worries about the wires, its the SOUND that counts. Speaker wires are connected temporary to test. This amplifier sounds excellent in bass, mids and treble. The way it is now the PSRR is excellent and thats how I feel. Transformer wires will stay as is. Labour of love. Thanx Carlos (Master of DX)

I do feel the same.... this is not too much important
in the reality... a very "sissie" thing.
I do my ones in a very dirty way..alike a pig...i do not mind.
But to comercial purposes...when things are for sale..or when we build for a friend and he pays for that....well.... in this moment we need to be carefull into the details, and beeing professionals, earning money (not your case) we have to take care of those details.

Stuey, It sound very good. I am using my Sansui Pro speakers 8 Ohm with horn tweeter and 15" speakers and hear nice tight bass, clear mids and highs.

I am studying a subwoofer amplifier.... 1 cicle to 300 cicles
flat from 1 to 200 and having losses of -3dB into 300.
I have already something to 625 watts RMS.
but i am tweaking and i have to assemble to listen.
Some days more and i will post if result fine into the bass sonics.
I want loosen bass... with bad control... longer one... deep as the devil's throat swalowing the universe.

DXPrecision power amp 170W RMS
Carlos, I was sad to give away this amplifier away today. Been playing music for 5 days with this amp in my workshop and missing it now. I am wondering why so very few people build this amp. Do you know how many people build DXPrecision V1.1 ? I am realy disapointed.

I do not know how many boards Nico has prepared
but seems was something alike 50.
I also do not understand why people have not made comments about.... very small number of folks have made that.
In my imagination, some of them built with mistakes and took some time trying to arrange.... some failed, and ashamed to say that made mistakes, they decided to forget that one... cost was small....so the loss was small.... only imagination.... a possibility only.
Maybe, people Bougth only to buy...you know... want to have..and boards remains forgoten.... people lazy to build..this happens a lot...you see... even you, or your friend, had those boards for monthes without build.
All i can say that sounds very good, and that i cannot understand what happened...or...i could see hundreds friends have abandoned the forum...some of them told me felt forum boring...i do not think the same about our forum..but really do not happens too much new things down here.... well.... i do not like too much changes, reason why i love the forum.
You see... the same amplifiers are back to main page..and this goes repeating those last year.

Oh, I'm almost back to normal now thanks Carlos. I just had a brain aneurysm sorted out. It took me a while to get over.
hello carlos uncle....
yesterday after reading the posts of Mr.Twaksak i went home start debugging the PR1 with fresh thoughts. The problem i was facing was that the bias voltage was too high and was not coming down....causing the transistors to heat up instantly. To solve this problem i only increased the 520Ohm resistor a lil bit which is in series with the variable resistor and the the bias came down to Zero and then i increased it to the desired value. As of now i m playing it with 35-0-35 and the sound is good and punch is tight and nothing bad is happening the transistors are cool and nothing smokked...... it was abt 1:00 AM in the night .....today i'll play it some more and would find a nice cabinet for it.
Thanks to amp guru Mr.DX ........waiting for more and new info abt PR.

Why so few built?
My boards are done; power supply done; have sinks and connectors. But alas, the speaker protection PCB I bought from Nico has not been stuffed because I can't find his website to see how to calculate the resistor to set it for my voltage. Unfortunately www.DXamp.com seems to be defunct. I need to protect my speakers from this brute of an amplifier!
I looked at the data sheet for the upc1237 chip, but I'm not confident enough to go with my own interpretation of Nico's cicuit adjustments

Also i let him free to delete, erase or use the home pages the way he wanted, as boards were already delivered and time enought to build has passed...instructions about the amplifier were published into the forum....i have published that i let him free to delete and use the space into his home pages...so... the ones that used to follow the thread knew that, and could save all the schematics and things they would need.
The Precision was released long time ago.... when it was released the site was operational giving support to builders, also thread, the group buy, also Nico was helping.... i am very sorry about the ones have travelled and have been impeached to assemble for so long time.
The protection is not my design...so..this is something to find Nico to give you the instructions.... i used to say fuses were the needed protection...and about those i am here to help to decide the correct ones to their needs (voltage, transformer power, output impedance, and style of use...if heavy duty or home use)
Some folks decided to start to build long time after the delivery....into our modern world things moves/changes very fast....in a such period of time my hairs gone all white.... Nico changed Hobby to tubes, and them to guitars, them he started to play in a band , then he decided to rebuild an old house, them to work with wood...and now he is disappeared....you see... the world goes routating and life goes on,,,, despite our decisions to build "one day"... into the "future"...... if we wait too much, future will bring plasma amplifiers and the Precision will not be usefull anymore.
Since the boards delivery, till now a days, Sakis found a woman, start to date, decide to marriage, and they had a son, and the son has born!..... a long time has passed guys.

Right now I am busy to have my TV antenna improved
All of us who dont have cable net or satelite, now use a digital receiver for "earth borne" digital signal, received with normal UHF antenna
I have not been able to see TV in several months now, so its due time
About building
Well, I have now learned the hard way not to buy supply caps before the last stage of building - with my pace they could get old before doing active service
But still working on my layout exercise 🙂
And now learning about the issues of classA
Never knew there were any other than heat
Sold my speakers to an "old" friend
So I have speakers to do as well
Bathroom is needed, the list is long

How does it sound to you? I have made mine without speaker protection added. There is no turn on thump and the amplifier has been running for a couple of days on my speakers with no problem at all. I figured for worst case the output fuse will protect my speakers.
