Nordic upon becoming fiberglass deficient has had to eat the boards to rectify this situation, sorry Ryan, haha. Yeah guys, where is all of the commotion, this thread is recently moving at the speed of a snail on opium, 😉.. Hey Carlos, currently listening to some Brazilian hand drummers and of course couldnt help but think of Crazy Charlie, haha..

Hi Sorry Ryan, yep, I used to live onlie but after the few days in bed, I have not quite taken up my old patterns yet, so spending a bit less time online.
The status of the boards is complete.
We are labeling and prepareing packages, with a batch going to the post office tommorrow.
Carlos and me had a very stressfull time developing the boards, and I think we both needed a small holiday, things wre returning to normal ,with many lessons learned now. As the saying goes, what does not kill us, makes us stronger.
I thank you for your patience...

Yep...we are on vacations...we had a lot of stress into this production
We are healing...we turn sick with problems we had because of boards, orders, brazilian customers, piracy and other things alike.
I have not forgoten what you have asked Vinyl...i have just stopped electronic constructions, i am just working into Orkut and Brazilian foruns those early days.
Precision two and three (II and III in Roman Letters) are stopped, both of them need tweaks, they were tested hardly and resulted reliable, very strong bass, but i think i have to tweak to the high end a little, as bass is so strong that is eating the treble into the breakfast...i have to increase treble or to decrease bass.
regards,
Carlos

Thanks Nordic & Carlos,
I'm glad to hear that you both had a chance to relax. I understand that these Groupbuys and PCB development can be quite stressful. I'm sure this thread will revive when all of us Monkeys start trying to assemble P1's.
Cheers,
Ryan

Ever felt like you should not have woken up some morning?
Today is the day for me...
Day was set out to put boards in envelopes and mail out....
Something kept strikeing me as funny on the boards but I could not put my finger on it... until I noticed the top silkscreen had no component values, only component numbers.
I went to Outlook, rechecked the gerber files I send to the factory and they were perfect.
So I phoned the factory looking for an explanation, turns out it was their fault, NOT MINE.
The traces are fine, the shapes of the components are fine, the numbers are fine, the values are missing!!!!!!!!!!
Which in my book makes it too scary for DIY.
The guys at the factory said I can drop the boards off tommorrow morningand they will manualy overlay another layer of silkscreen to fill the missing values after hours... which I assume could lead to some allignment issues (not the biggest problem), what is a concern is that the boards then have to go through the oven again, which could tarnish the silver immersion layer.
It did sound like they were willing to make a new set if the fix does not work... they have never done it, so it is totaly experimental.
If you feel you waited too long please post or e-mail me and I will mail your boards as is tommorrow.
(will post photo as soon as camera battery is charged)
Alternatively you will be waiting - if things work out- till Monday or Tuesday for shipment, and if it goes wrong maybe only friday or next Monday for a new batch.

Sorry for the disappointment after all your good efforts! Don't sweat it too much though!
Personally, I will be glad to wait for boards that meets your expectations.
Regards,
Francois
Painfull man, very painfull, especialy while I thought it may be due to something I did... Now I'm just a little pissed off, but at least the guys at the factory are willing to fix their mistakes...
Lol, I bet Carlos will like it, he does not like silkscreens too much.

Nordic,
I don't see this to be a major catastrophe. In my opinion, any DIYer that can't figure out how to cross-reference a component list shouldn't be building an amp of this magnitude.
Maybe they could credit you 5% for their screwup instead of trying to fix it and risking a big mess.
Cheers,
Ryan

For me that wouldn't be a problem either....
Nordic, try to get a credit and buy yourself a... hmmm, probably you will not get anything more than a cheap pillow for a sleep
Thanks for your efforts!

Well I have 3 boards that had a bit of a misprint on part of their silkscreens, so I'd be willing to risk those....
I still feel concidering how much it cost me, and because it was their own error, which could have been avoided with a 10 cent phone call.
Just like they made an error by not doing top and bottom layer solder masks on the HRII boards... despite a clear instruction.
Somewhere along the line I need to hold them accountable, or they will never learn, and I will never have a reliable manufacturer...
I think the material costs is negligible to the price that they charge, so they can make the damn things over if they can not fix it...

Those boards, in my personal taste, represents
" A dream that comes true!"...... lovely!!!
Elegant, has class, has style, it is not dense, not crowdy, not confused.
I am very proud of this board with this defect.... this is the one i will show to my sons, to my family and to brazilian foruns..also to Orkut.
I am very proud.... sorry by our friends, of course not a good idea without the silk screen, at least ONE feel good watching those boards.
If you decide, in the long run, in the future, to make a wonderfull gift to me..... do not send the ones with silk screen, please!
Ahahahhahahaahh!
regards,
Carlos

Values? What on earth do you need those on the PCB for? If someone can't cross-reference a part# to a BOM, they shouldn't be playing with electricity.
If they get some value wrong despite having the BOM right in front of them, then I say "Welcome to DIY! Hope you didn't blow too many BJT's. Now let's fix it!"
But you're right Nico, they must be discouraged from making mistakes like that. Request they be redone, at their own cost. 🙄

Mine is cutted.... i do by myself... i cut my own hair
And it is reasonable in length...i have just token a breath from a strong fan i have here that have exploded my hair.
Temperature is fine, now raining every day and temperature dropped from 32 to 27 degrées célsius during the day and go to 25 during the nigth..... for me this is nice.
During the seventies i used to go to barber shop...when the guy had "Military style" hair they use to cut that way...go cutting, go cutting and i was reading and reading ...and ready!... Military hair cut
When was dark brown folk (we are all ligth brown yellish here) or a real black carbon man.... then the "black power style" was made.... was a problem!
I give up ..... those folks love themselves too much and could not imagine other head different by their own hair cut... since the eighties i developed my own hair cut and never let, anyone, touch my hair once again.
This picture had a fresh hair cut...was in this month of mars, year 2006...you see... i keep the same hair cut till today... always the same...and i never have cutted my beard too... it is there since start to grow.
regards,
Carlos

Hi Nordic,
IMHO this is not a mistake. My PCB supplier doesn't put them on by default. I would never put component values on the PCB. You and Carlos change the component values so often the PCB will always be wrong.
An accurate, up-to-date BOM is the answer.
regards
Greg
Hi
I agree. Have a master schematic with all the component values labeled R1 R2 ect. This way you can change the values easily on paper and implementation yet need no change to the PCB.

It is very hot here dear Weissi.... i really try to avoid direct
Sunligth, and the result is that i am a little bit yellow..ahahahha.
Temperature here is better those last days, dropped from 31-32 to 27-28.... degrées centigrades.... during nigth goes down 25-26 degrées... not so unconfortable as last month...i am wainting, desperatelly, the month of July, when we gonna have "very strong and terrible cathastrophic winter!"...temperature will go down to frozzen 22-23 degrées celsius.
ahahahahahah!
