Can I send the first schematic for you to build, I have this one in mind StereoTimes -- The Electrocompaniet Nemo Power Amplifier or maybe rather its smaller brother which is a little less complex. If you came to visit my country Id happily let you audition them, then I have my other self designed amps but schematics are for my eyes only.

then you should test in comparison test, asking children to evaluate...ABX controlled test.... produce pictures and videos of this test, and detailed pictures to prove your test was done.

I dont ask children to evaluate, most dont even know what to listen for, I use opinions of a musicians, someone who plays instruments. In my family I m lucky, I have my sisters kids 23 and 24 years old, which are accomplished musicians, and play in orchestras. They are both apt with the violin, piano and one with the saxophone, sometimes I have the benefit of the opinion of a local university s music professor. Now they know what to listen for, know what the real instrument is supposed to sound like, even I disagree sometimes with them but i know they are more likely to be correct and 99 percent of their comments concur with one another. Im not interested in what sounds good but in what sounds closest the real thing.
When my friends come visit with their kids , kids that dont have any musical training or talent and we listen to pop music the first thing they want me to do is turn up the bass and the treble controls on my preamp, they say this makes it sound much better, to me its horrible. What they like is the thunderous bass, shaking walls and pitch high trebles, now this sounds good to them, but believe me this is a far cry from what those instruments being played actually sound like in real life. I also like this preferred kids sound sound when Im having coctails at the local disco. 😀😀😀 Adults have these preferences too as most of my friends are only into modern music styles and they also say my system sounds better with increased bass and treble. Using kids and or adults with no musical training or talent to evaluate, no thanks not for me. Theres a great difference between good sounding, earpleasing and realism.
When you say something like bright and extreme clarity it worries me, brighter and clearer than what is real.... too much emphesis on trebles to compensate for failing and aging ears or to please the kids ears which have no idea how it sounds in reality......
Did you build these particular electro models and use the specified parts, I bet not. Just using a certain part of the shematic like a ccs type or the way its used with drivers doesnt constitute you having built a electrocompaniet or a copy of any other amp for that matter. Only after you have build the complete schematic and with the exact specified parts have you done so. Even then youll find differences as just changing capacitor manufacturer will change the sound somewhat even if exact values are used.
Sorry Carlos I will not build a ES, for me its a waste of time, all my Self type amps are already in the junk basket and your design has nothing new I didnt try 20 years ago, actually by the looks of things Ive actually experimented much more than you have 😀😀😀, I built these kind of amps when I was 15 16 years old till in my twenties. Im a big boy now and have discovered through the years that there are some other topologies which can bring more realism to music than any Self type amp. Self amp can be very good, the best Ive heard is JLH s version, exactly the same as Self s amps with some diffrences relating compensation but done in the late 70s. When built with modern components its quite close to my electrocompaniets but not quite there. I spent many hours making small little changes and component choices the way you do and still not quite got there. Ive listened to amps better in some ways to the electrocompaniets too, playing on my system, some cost less than half the price others double the price, none of them using Self s or I prefer to say JLH s design as this is more accurate.
Controlled ABX test, whatever they are, are waste of time, you only need a room, some Tia Maria 😀😀😀, the equipment and 5 or six musicians to tell you which amp that is playing has more realism.
You may have compared hundreds of amps, but my money is on that they were all midfi type designs not even fit for audiophiles and I dont like audiophiles that much, most have preference for earpleasing type equipment, not realism and 95 percent of them have no musical training so I dont quite understand how they can be critics. Visit your local hifi vendors, compare to equipment that have been regarded by many as being top quality, Krells, MLs Audionote, Mission Cyrus, Pass labs and a whole lot more manufacturers I can think of, then come tell me truthfully your design is the best in the world. 😀😀😀

If you are talking correct instrument sounds, you are certainly talking 90% speaker and room qualities, not amplifiers. (or is that 50% electricity?)

Sorry Carlos I dont do this and neither will you ever see this from me, I sell amps and wont give schematics away for nothing that are of my own design.
I dont sell them for a living, I have my own businesses for that, I sell them to fund further designs and purchase components. To see the smiles on peoples faces when then hear how good a soundsystem can really be is my only reward which btw is enough for me.

Carlos, thanks for your DX designs. I have not built any and am unlikely to build them in the future. But what you have done and put out there will help many to venture out and build their first ever or first good sounding amp. But I suggest that you listen a little more to guys like homemodder as much as you do listen to Hugh. If you have gone through more of homemodder's posts, then you will understand that he has already gone a long way in integrating techniques resulting in accurate and musical sound. Guys like Andrew are technically too good to be ignored. So a little self-restraint will help all of us learn from each other.
homemodder, have you built the Stochino amp. I suggest you do for kicks and compare the sound of that amp with some of your best designs. If implemented well, the Stochino gets as good as there can be. Ofcourse, some of your ideas are equally valid and I'm sure has you smiling. Please pm me. I am interested in your designs for a price.

Are you sure you have the right thread? I think most people who are into ultra expensive high power class A monoblocs and similar retail high end stuff would find better places to express their interests than in a specific amplifier thread. You did check the retail price tags on your favourite gear before posting, didn't you?

I am not interested to learn from homemodder or others....my teachers are Hugh Dean, Douglas Self and Nelson Pass....these ones, when they open their mouthes or write something..for sure uncle Charlie will be reading, several times...also i use to read people that wrote books too.
I have learned doing.... burning fingers..if i was following suggestions i would not be so developed the way i am.... i would be alike these guys that have beliefs and goes marching same place without move to other things.
I do not respect, nor like theorists.... my respect and attention goes to the ones works for the forum, produces schematics for forum folks, help them..others has no value to me..they are just numbers....... the ones does not believe ABX, or want to discuss the range and percentual of effectivity and efficiency... to me are alike aliens.... let them leave in peace in their planet.

If you wanna know...Einstein use to play with my Commander in the Army...when he was very young kid, in Switzeland, Einsten was hidden in his home..and Einstein was not discussing theories with him.... Einstein was playing games with shirt and pant's buttons.... Einstein was on topic. (this happened in the reality... my commander, the most graduated officer of my platton, Ottmar Albert Furrer, became Brazilian when completed 18 years old and entered the Brazilian Army..and he told me that and confirmed (proved) with pictures)

Day by day i am confirming, in practice, things Hugh Dean told me years ago... we disagree about the 0.47 ohm emitter resistances in the EF output power units.... i really thing i could not get what he mean..one day i will..for sure he is rigth and i am wrong.

What is your real motivation for building amps, self gloryfication.............????
Members are not here to give importance to one another, they are here to share their enjoyment of music and how to design and build equipment to do so. This forum is not a competion to see who is of more importance but members be they just beginners or professionals, contributing in a constructive way on improving audio design by either contributing their valuable knowledge, experience, help or by contributing with some designs.
The reason people like Nelson Pass, Hugh Dean and Douglas Self, JLH are succesfull and respected is that they have the right motivation and they are very much theorists, contrary to what you may believe, they sure know their theory, they have studied the theories of audio till they have become experts in their field by putting their theories into practice and then optimising their theories in practice. Douglas Self is a pure theorists btw. With their theories inplace they are able to create excellent designs by maybe prototyping 10 amplifiers whereas like in your case you had to build 5000 amplifiers. Do you see these people even mentioning anything about their importance. Their importance comes from the people that realise that these people can and do contribute a lot and help others to further audio design, theyve earned it, people seek them out for help and input, they did not get it via self glorification or wild claims like best amplifier in the world and everyone elses amps must be put in the junkbox or by dismissing and belittling valueable, valid correct circuit design theories by some that have much more experience and know how. If you feel their theory is incorrect or inadequite tell them so and substantiate why, there are members here learning from the ground on up, let them learn correctly with substantiated and valid circuit theories. Reasons like Ive built 5000 amplifiers and pointing out the fact that some of us havent contributed any threads showing our designs without even having a clue as to why or how they have contributed is not valid excuses to dismiss others valid theories.
You would indeed do very well to learn from the people you say are your mentors, hope you learn much more than just circuit design from them.........
