hey need help.....
i have a 2 beyma 122nd, 1 has a hole in it the size of 50 cent piece, the problem the model is discontinued, speaker is about 22yrs old, but the quality of sound that comes out is phenomenal, beyma dont have no recone kits, i patched it but if i go pass 20, in volume it clips the amp.. thinking the patch made it unbalanced
so do any 1 know what i can do without replacing to a whole different speaker
, looking up to the skies

What caused the hole? What did you use for the patch? Got a photo? Here's the data sheet for reference:

Actually the person that Actually installed it about 8yrs ago had put a silicone on the Crack and after yrs of playing you couldn't even hear that it was busted, but it bothered me, so he told me put paper towel, with nail polish, and that started, the whole to get bigger, so I bought flex tape it works but it clips pass20 after 15 minutes with heavy bass playing, so I searched and searched and reached out to beyma, they said there's nothing I can do, the speaker us out dated
i have a friend at beyma, he told me to use a brown paper bag, with elmers glue mix it with water and it worked to me, but it clips at 20 in volumeWhat caused the hole? What did you use for the patch? Got a photo? Here's the data sheet for reference:

A hole in a paper cone is best patched by applying the minimal number of layers of tissue paper over it (on front and back of cone). The tissue paper is applied using watered down pva adhesive. I would remove the old repair and try that fix.
If the hole is in the flexible, treated cloth surround instead of the paper cone, then let me know.
EDIT: Just saw your above post, my laptop has just caught up it would appear!

I would first want to know what the problem is... is it an air leak, a balance issue, a mechanical voice coil issue or an electrical one?

Suggest you get some Frequency Generator app or program so you can make any you want, and sweep that speaker up/down at various levels trying to find nasty resonances - buzzing - scratching , etc.
Not sure you have actual amp distortion (a scope would show that, but hey ...) or nasty resonances but testing beats guessing 1000:1 , so ....
The parts you added might be flapping around, or buzzing, or simply unbalancing the cone so it twists sideways and voice coil scratches polepiece or ...
FWIW space between voice coil and pole inside or plate hole outside is about 0.1mm , even slight flexing will cause unwanted contact and ugly noises.
Here´s some for Windows, there are similar ones for Android or Linux: https://listoffreeware.com/best-free-signal-generator-software-windows/
Very useful to have on hand.

Look around, and get the things repaired by a competent shop.
Patches are a temporary solution.
And replace with flea market / car boot sale speakers if repair is expensive.

Do you have any idea of what a Beyma BM122ND is?And replace with flea market / car boot sale speakers if repair is expensive.

my friend at beyma in long island ny....just told me to bring it, even tho they dont make recone kits anymore .. he said hes been with the company over 20yrs, he might be able to manufacture something up, from all the parts he has,,,, that speaker has phenomenal sound quality, beyma told me that was 1 of the best speakers that was ever built, in fact they said nothing has come close to it since then, and thats from beyma workers telling me that
that speaker is 22yrs old they dont have recone kits, i was told if the have a knockoff kit, the sound would change totally to a different soundGet a recone kit.
Sure it will cost you, but ‘Beyma don’t offer them’ seems pretty unlikely to me.
In pro audio 22y isn't that old. And how come you seem confident it's a knockoff? Would it be worse than a cone with a hole in it? And what's stopping you from asking the supplier?that speaker is 22yrs old they dont have recone kits, i was told if the have a knockoff kit, the sound would change totally to a different sound
I did all of that, beyma in Spain said that to me.In pro audio 22y isn't that old. And how come you seem confident it's a knockoff? Would it be worse than a cone with a hole in it? And what's stopping you from asking the supplier?
Once you use a knock off, the sound won't be the same.t.all the remedies you are say have been done and asked, especially about the speaker being 22yrs old.for that reason they don't have no more recone kits, for the 122nd
No it didn't get overlooked. There's no 1 that can find it and that's from beyma that told me thisThe data sheet I gave in post #2 obviously went overlooked.
I never said I was a knock off, I'm only saying what beyma company told me if I replaced that cone and it's not the exact cone the sound won't be the same especially , I have a pair of 122ndIn pro audio 22y isn't that old.
