...does this system, speaker , Dac better than dCs have a name or more obfuscated babble de goop ...
Err, just saying ..🙂
Just saying not asking then? I can't fathom an answer if you do turn out to be asking a question here simply because I don't give my current collection of kit a name other than 'my current system'
I'm unfamiliar with the game where umpire and bowler are one and the same. Please do bring me up to speed...
Bowler and Ump the same , err not quite . What about Dac's Any familiarity ? Enlighten us , i'm all for improving ...
OT for this thread but over on my blog I have a post titled 'Ultimate SQ DAC' - you can pop over there to gain some ideas...
A great example of why Frank doesn't rate you in his top 3 - you don't listen 😀 Which aspect of 'OT for this thread' didn't you understand?
Losing sleep over that lost off rating 🙄, which part of is the "soundstage "better than dCs makes my question OT, or is The Fu Manchu smog killing your comprehension ..

Bee Gees
1977 ?
Are The Bee Gees from Australia?

Australia , not quite, lots of whiners, no singers ... 😀
Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in Chorlton, Manchester, England, until the late 1950s. The family then moved to Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia, where the brothers began their music careers.[2] After achieving their first chart success in Australia with "Spicks and Specks" (their 12th single), they returned to the United Kingdom in January 1967 where producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience.

Midnight Oil; that's right, from Australia too. ...'Beds are Burning'
* Frank must know all the great Australian bands. ... INXS

Except, I'm a 70's guy - that's when my peak interest in bands occurred ... as mentioned before, what gets me going is hard driving pub rock: Billy Thorpe, The Angels, Rose Tattoo, Blackfeather, Cold Chisel, Chain ...
Like both .. au natural, and mic'ed - used to listen to a lot of Vollenweider, even went to a live concert of his - which was very well done ...
Soundstaging is very much a system issue, the most brilliant speakers will fail badly if the amplfier can't behave itself.
The 'ideal', achievable only when everything is in alignment, is when the 3D space is locked absolutely solid in the listening area, and stays that way no matter where you move in the listening room - completely to a side wall, beside a speaker, or even behind a speaker.
If you want enjoyment, then that measures up pretty well, 😀 ...
Totally agree .
I have great speakers ( Tannoys 15 DC's) and great amps . Sound stage , I love the term , it's a perfect description of a very important part of your total system performance . The sound stage is there in Dolby 5.1 with my class D amps , but listening to my old vinyls in stereo mode it's gone !
Switching to my other class AB or class A amp , the sound stage is back ! exactly as you discribe !
Cheers ,
Rens
