Here are a few SKETCHUPS of a future project of mine.
It is based on the Tannoy Westminster Royal
This would be a floor to ceiling corner build-in (approx 7' x 3' x 2').
The triple-folded horn is 10' long.
The build process includes eight boxes...
1. Front conical horn
2. 15" coaxial driver rear enclosure
3. Inner folded rear horn (left and right)
4. Middle rear horn flair (left and right)
5. Outer final rear horn flair (left and right)
The final design (this is just a proof-of-concept) will be modelled using Martin's front / rear horn worksheet when it becomes available.

Many thanks to Bag End for making available 3d DWGs of thier 10', 12", and 18" drivers.
These can be imported / used in SKETCHUP (free from Google)

Good luck. I envy your woodworking ability. I look at this cabinet and then go off to have a drink!
Well, it helps having friends that do finish carpentry, and boat building.
Worst case, import SKETCHUP into CAD and have them cut professionally.
Many options...

What drivers are you planning on using -I assume you've got a set of Golds, or other Tannoy units?
In my dreams.
Here is a less pricey alternative -- used Beyma 15DXs (see here) ...

The Eminence Beta 15CX might be worth a punt too (though you'll need to but the crossovers too). Cheap and looks pretty solid to me.

the hieght of the driver is far too high to sound good from a seated position.

Turn it upside down 😛
Towers look silly with drivers at the bottom, but if your nd goal is sound quality and not appearance i dont see how upside down would matter 🙂
Personally, I would choose a single/longer backhorn and not a splitted backhorn solution like yours (two equal horn of a shorter lenght) because of less workmanship/materials and possible lower cutoff.
The symetric look of your approach has a meaning only for a single box on mono audio programm (which I think was the case with Wesminster's in their glory).

Well, it works for me.
My front left and right channels flanking my 92" front projection screen are that high.
I actually like it that way.
It is a "bigger" sound -- like at a concert or movie theatre.
Different strokes for different folks...

Hi,
A concentrics tweeter is much more directional than a normal tweeter.
Front horn loading will also make the midrange far more directional.
The arrangement can't work well, if the direct sound is good then
the overall room drive will not be good. The whole point of Tannoy
dual concentrics is that they are listened to on or near on-axis.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Is the highest mounting of the driver I think they made, this more typical :

Hi Gi🙂
Nice project, but why don't you copy the original Westminster? I see you DC will be higher than in the original and your front horn's angle seem to be not wide enough.
I wish you good luck, strong arms and understanding spouse/partner because now I am finishing my first Autograph (wich is a little smaller) and I tell you that it is a titanic enterprise!
I will use a Beyma 15'' coaxial, BX I think. Very good built.
I considered the Eminence but then I thought that its magnet was to little to me
Regards

First and foremost, thanks for the constructive feedback!
Where there is a will there is a way.
My current thinking is two 15" vintage drivers (which I already have).
Mounted in front coaxially will be Heil AMTs which I already have.
Crossover will be active at 1000hz.
That is my current thinking...
BTW, this is down the road a tad.
We have to build the extension to the family room first.
Then these puppies go in...

Nice!
Any pics yet?

The big Autograph corner horn plans looked way too complicated for me -- so kudos to you!
Hi,
the Westminster is the modern creation to suit stereo. It's predecessor, the Autograph, was originally designed to be corner located.
Did they make a rectangular Autograph? or is it a clone that I have seen on the web?
BTW, I have seen some drawings and cutaways of the Westminster posted, but don't know where.
Am I right in my understanding that the current Westminster has reverted to using alnico and the pepperpot?
Does anyone know the differences between a Westminster driver and the ordinary range of drivers? It might give our cloner a clue to what would be a good driver.
