The Quad 63 coating is two layers, a white sublayer and then the grey coating. The photo is presumably of the application of the white stuff.
I've used a variation of the (I think) 'I Forgot' inspired inner tube stretcher,
Using an open frame both sides of the stretched film are accessible.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The coating on the drivers in my 63s sure looked brushed on to me. Maybe they changed their process at some point in their many year production history.

Hello to all,
seems to be a stretching jig contest. So here is mine. Looks like the great brother from Arend-Jans jig - but it has more clamps on the short sides similar to the original 63´stretcher. This beast is two meters long and fills the room...all for my Quads.

Very very nice!
Increasing the number of clamps is indeed a logical improvement which I considered at one point too, but I decided to stay as close as possible to the original as to not introduce more unknowns to the equation.
Mind if I contact you privatly?

Hi,
basically like in post #10. Just use 1 beam at the ends not such a complicated lever construction. This beam needs to have a curved surface equal to the panel´s curvature. But build it stiff! There will develop considerably high forces when stretching the membrane.
