At this moment only plans, but next up are for 2SK60 and 2SJ18...

Are the 2SK180 Tokins essentially a drop in replacement for the 2SK82 N-channel versions from Papa? I'm guessing that's why the kits (chassis and PCBs) will be available after the dust has settled on this round?
not

Congrats to the lucky winners. I hope you enjoy the build and I look forward to sharing in the success! And to myself and others who were not so fortunate, "Them's the breaks." Perhaps another day. Thank you to The Man and his team for making it all possible.
Just paid my invoices with the Store and with Modushop as well. 🙂
Thank you Nelson, Jason, Elena, and everybody who helped putting the kits together and in the whole process !
Looking forward to this very special amplifier 🙂
Regards, Claas

At this moment only plans, but next up are for 2SK60 and 2SJ18, similar but with
mu followers instead of constant current sources. The 2SK82 and 2SJ28 are very
happy with 8 ohm loads, so they get CCS. The 2SK60 and 2SJ18 are half the
size, prefer 16 ohm loads, and so will get mu followers that make 8 ohm load look
like 16.

I also have 15ohm Lowthers and was wondering which of the First Watt amps would be compatible with them - this has give me pause. I recently read a review that SIT amps are not very good with impedances above 8 ohms. I also read that I can add a resistor in parallel with them, but that would mean that I would have to change the simple crossover I use to shape the Lowther's response. I would much rather find a great First Watt amp that does not sound too much like solid state (I use 300b amps now) that would be compatible with my 15 ohm Lowthers.
It is interesting to hear that these other VFET chips actually prefer higher loads.

I don’t think that’s how it worked. A member can only enter one time per lottery, so no one has to enter multiple times for each selection. The entry is AUTOMATICALLY increased by various multiples. I don’t remember them all and am not involved in any way, but I believe some were:
How many times you’ve posted
How many years you’ve been a member
If you’ve donated in the past to the forum
The sort of things that show a long term commitment and contributions to this community.

It seems more in keeping with the spirit of generosity that Mr Pass has fostered, if every member that was interested had one ticket, so there are even odds amongst all that entered.
I have just as much desire to win the chance to purchase one of these as anyone else. But as a parent of a young child, I don't have the opportunity to take the time to enter multiple times.
So a system of multiple tickets favors those who can spend the time to enter many times.
Of course, the world isn't so fair, but it seems more in keeping with this generous spirit to me.
They did what they could to make it fair and in the end it doesn't really matter, they could do with them what they wanted, but chose to make it as equitable as possible.
I do know that some of the long term users, who donate much of their time, won, but I also know that at least one person with one post total (enter the drawing) also won.
As one somewhere in the middle, I think it was done well. As I said before, it doesn't really matter, the key here is to accept and be grateful for a chance to be given an amplifier worth 4-5k if you were to buy it, and oh ya, you can't because the parts are extinct.
Don't bite the hand, or you might not get fed. 😎
@Zen I like this one.🙂

Back in March when Nelson first suggested buying some of the hard to find Tokin parts I purchased 4 of the THF-51S. Did I make a mistake buying that part? The conversation about the next set of plans to drop to doesn't seem include a mention of the THF-51S or the 2SK77/2SK182 which I thought were its analogues.
@ PaulInWA
No mistake , lucky you because Mr. Pass have other original DIY amp with THF-51S
on the long project(s) list 🙂 SE but with much more watt's
