I bet they are enhanced with the finest in AUTOTUNE.
I have never heard of any of those "artists". Thank God.

Yes, over time, the average dynamic range of albums reached a maximum in the mid-1980s, after which digital multiband compressors first hit the scene in 1991:...I recall buying the album in the 80's and thinking it was very realistic in the dynamics...
"Digital" = compact disc
"SD" - = standard deviation
"DR" = dynamic range crest factor (dB)
I've found that the best CDs to select are the ones with the highest remaining DR ratings--from the mid- to late-1980s.
I think the reason why a lot of people disliked these CD versions is due to the type of processes used during mastering to increase the effective loudness of the tracks, more by using EQ to statically attenuate bass and boost the 1-5 kHz band. This is very easily reversed using Pro-Q4 plugin by observing the average spectrum moving around (white and gray areas/traces) and inserting appropriate amounts of dynamic and static EQ (orange trace and multicolor dots at the center of the parametric EQ bands) to reverse the most obvious areas where EQ and compression was used during production, all while listening to the result in real time:
It's very easy to use.
