A dissection microscope would give you the proper working distance and allow for stereo vision -> depth perception. University/government surplus stores can be good sources for these.

CM4 IO board is well done! All is working, dsi, camera, micro sd card as a seccond storage, hdmi, usb, ir remote, buttons and clean shutdown mod using pic12f1822, pic is need because something needd to handle things when cm4 is in deep power down mod and its not possible without an microcontroler. On video you can see power button/remote control in action. Pic handle things very well, for example when system is not fully on its possible to press power button but system will not shutdown imediatelly instead it will shutfown when it get safe so that all discs is unmounted first and clean shutdown than is done including putting cm4 into deep shutdown. My hope at the end of this month diy camera will be fully finished and I will show you how it look
