I see what you mean now. Off course that really depends on what you're using, for the MPC's THD isn't quoted in the datasheet so I don't know about distortion. It will most probably be more than a relay (especially high end relays), but if you can hear it, I have no idea.

I don't think it's dostortion. More likely EM effect either from the relay magnets or from the power supply. By accident, I recently foumnd that this had more influence on sonics than I'd previouslt thought. Basically transformers near ADCs and DACs (10cm or so) has quite an effect on measured low freq EM levels and sonics!
Hm, well, if it's from the relay magnets, then one probably doesn't need to worry about that if you're using an MPC. Off course, if it's the power supply then every device will suffer from it.

Has anyone ever built this?
on digital singal selector, you can use 74F173. up to 200Mhz
But, spdif is not a TTL/CMOS level ,you must use a chip to change spidf(0.5vpp) to TTL/CMOS.
I suggest you use 75174 to do it . also ,you can use 74hcu04.

Hi,Mr. ray
The link is not ative now,and not active too 2 weeks ago...
I am much interested in the layout of the Stax DAC-Talent BD.Do you have some infos of that(PCB/photo...etc)?
Thanks
X.G.
I have the schematic for the Stax Talent (PCM1702 version) as a PDF. I can dig it out if you want it.
Thanks.
I got the DAC schematic's copy paper of the Janpanese MJ magazine 5 years ago....but you send me the PDF file will be appreciated too.
any more infos about it's PCB/layout?
my email is jmxg007@tom.com
cheers

I might have some pictures I saved from a Japanese site but again I'll have to search a bit to see if I still have them. I have some dac mods I really must complete, so if I have them it will be 1/2 a day from now.

Thanks a lot,Mr. ray.I had got your e-mail and the schematic.

Wich option (card) would be best for digital-switching?
Is there a end-block with BNC?

I've distilled a circuit to allow multiple coax inputs for a dac. Would this circuit work?
Where do I have to get the power from, is it best to use the analog ps or the digital ps?
And finally, can you guys help me finding a suitable high quality relay that will work perfectly? (I'm planning on buying soon at Digi-key and Farnell)
Thanks!
