Are there any capacitors at digikey that can be used for building crossovers or do you have to use more expensive capacitors from Madisound or parts express?
the caps from Digi-Key are mostly smaller than 10uf so can be used on the higher frequency crossovers if you like. I would use the polypropylene over the polyester caps. The lower frequency crossover caps will be larger than is generally available from non-audio sources.
This, of course, does not address the "sound" of capacitors except to say I like polypropylenes over polyester.
