hello everyone i have one question...i had make a 18 watt british guitar amp...today i make one more modification...i make solid state ....with switch i change in rectifier or solid state rectifier....the question is.....what is the differnce between of them......thank you
I take it the amplifier ia Vale?
The EZ80/81 or GZ34 drops around 30Volts, a 1N4007 drop around 1Volt, so around 60Volts extra HT.

You should put also a series resistor to mimic the presence of the filter inductance, if there's any. Something around 220 Ω.
But you won't obtain the same results as the inductance filter, since a capacitative filter still would present the residuals of rectification, ripple, which an inductive input type limits very well under the noise floor.
