Yes I think it was a variable frequency driver... it used an ECL82, and some ECC83 for the variable oscillator, and those tubes for output... I can't remeber the site...

Yes, you TF deserve better life than that!

(btw... don't think that was an awful stress for the valve... they were obvously class B)
 
You know what's the problem? That Chinese manifacturers don't make any EL34 tube type. They would be ideal for your bench supply: hard to beat and unexpensive. And you can order some spare ones too because they're cheap.

Maybe if you feel brave you can mod the pwr supply (I think very little) to use 5881s... they're dirt cheap from China.

I wouldn't do that, but if you can't afford the Sovteks and so using the the TFK... I would call the WVF (World Valve Fund) :smash:
