designing a accurate satelite - subwoofer monitor set... where to begin?

Ahhh... Iam starting to understand the dilemma. In order to make the sub only producing that part of the spectrum that is not placeable in the stereo field, the satellites need to roll off around 90hz or lower. In order to do that, you need or:

a bigger driver, meaning a bigger satellite, or
a bigger enclosure, meaning a bigger satellite, or
a dedicated mid-woofer, which means a 2-way system.

Especially if the third option is true, a coaxial driver sounds logic to me. Could anyone explain in for me understandable words why the building of a coaxial ystem was a bad idea again?

edit ***attached the seas specifications... seems small an doable to me... not trying to push though ****

Thanks

Quite the opposite , since the two systems would need a 6 dB /oct roll off at crossover frequency ( let's say 100 Hz ) , you need only a little sat that plays gorgeously form 150 Hz and up . Depending upon driver(s) configuration , that is achievable with a little closed box , with lots of stuffing in it .
Hey - 6 dB / OCt is the acoustical natural roll off , not the electric or electronic ( with a 24 dB / oct as an electronic filter for the sub usually does ).

Someone had built a box with that Seas and he assures that it doesn't need any sub ,'cos it plays sufficiently loud . But then , you'll need to project the box and the crossover .
I like ,when playing loud , clean and crystal undistorted treble , so a tweeter might be more appeable to me . Nevertheless, my previous project was a 3" plus a woofer , so it depends ...

I'm still amazed of how a cheap chinese ( brand : weifi ! ) can sound good if well implemented . The ugly little satellites have been replaced with better Toshiba ones , and put at the top of the wall ( 3.5m ) tilted towards the listener.
The little 5 liter sub on the ground gives enough bass that I can hardly compare it to my two 12 " 😱:apathic:
Of course , just to play Youtube videos and I tunes ..'cos if you focus on the quality of the source or the distortion at high levels....but for 25 €...🙄😉
