Well, I don't understand. Your unit had FW 1.17 installed, but you decided to "upgrade" to 1.16.....that process got messed up and now you want to "downgrade" back to 1.17?....which is what you originally had.
Possibly this new FW 1.17 requires a new GUI program just as FW 1.16 did? A new GUI which is not available yet and might be the reason FW 1.17 is not on the Behringer website yet?

Does anyone have a 1.17 fukk Dump of the Eeprom or at least the downlaodble File like the 1.16 from the Behringer Site?

Yes I did and now am super bricked. I spoke to Behringer and they claim the firmwares are the same with the exception that 1.17 is for a newer board revision IC (maybe the eeprom?) I was told by someone else that the 1.17 posted is a full dump and as such needs to be programmed via eeprom programmer not RS232 > DCX.

Strange is the Behringer statement, 1.16 and 1.17 beeing the same. Somewhere in a german Forum I read from people claiming to know the differences (improvements) in the firmware, there even was a list of changes (minor, but still)

I corresponded with Swell Sound Electronics ( Behringers tech support in the USA ) and he said he has been unable to purchase the particular eprom chip used in the DCX. This is not what I would call the best customer support.

That´s very strange, this chip is available worldwide for a few bucks... I used up some old Motherboard-Eeproms 🙂
The issue is with the stuff that's INSIDE the chip. That code is sometimes proprietary code and they don't want to be "in the wild".
Off course, but shouldn´t be the official tech-support of a manufacturer be able to get this BIOS-Date?
a solution to this problem ? USB 1.0 because the buffer data transference is lowest than 2.0
1- turn on the DCX2496 pushing the left key
2- conect to the pc
3- use DCX2496_remote_1_16a NOT HIGEST OR LOWEST, THIS
4- install first Xover.bin file
5- restart the dcx
6- now you can use it
7-restart again pushing left key to update again
8- conect to te pc and soft
9- install DCX_116.bin file
10- restar when finish and now you can use it full

usb-serial adapter I had already be using the remote software on but it did not
complete.
I now have a unit that will only display the power on screen "Behringer
DCX2496".
Any and all help would be appreciated. I really would like to get it working
again.
We used to program eeproms at work so I can go down that road if need be.
