That's odd, because my CM6631 works perfectly with Daphile. Full USB Audio v2.0 supported.

Yeah most likely the same. It uses a modified Asus driver. Mine is a bit different but the same components.

Would you kindly confirm whether you are using a CM6631 or a CM6631A based usb to spdif converter.
I have a generic LJM CM6631A usb to spdif purchased on ebay, which when use with Firmware 0101 PID 0×0319 is automatically detected and outputs spdif when used with volumio on the Raspberry Pi.
However, the same LJM CM6631A unit although detected by Daphile as High Speed USB2 hardware does not appear to output any signal through spdif.
If , I may enquire, what is the firmware that is flashed on your unit.
You may check the firmware by using the flash update tool found in the CM6631 Firmware 2203 package VID 0x0D8C PID 0x0309 on Windows XP which may be downloaded from http://www.nutsaudio.com/driver/CM6631_Firmware.zip

I would very much like to solve this problem and to use the LJM CM6631A unit with my external dacs when playing with Daphile.
I believe that the first step to solving the problem would be to identify the firmware that works with Daphile.
Incidentally as an aside, and for your information why I am somewhat curious as to the firmware used; the LJM CM6631A unit when shipped came with Firmware 0108 PID 0×0314 . This firmware 0108 PID 0×0314 worked in Windows and was able to output an spdif signal but did not work in volumio which is based on debian linux.
It was only after I flashed the firmware to 0101 PID 0×0319 that the unit worked in Volumio. Nonetheless neither 0101 PID 0×0319 nor 0108 PID 0×0314 works with Daphile .

- go to http://daphile/cgi-bin/Devel addrress on your Daphile PC
- copy the following link text (either for i486 or x86_64 version) to input field besides the "Install" button
- reboot
This has some improvement for Suspend, HDMI audio with KMS GPU drivers (might cause trouble), Mytek Firewire fixed, latest 3.14.6 kernel, etc...

I finished building a little headless, fanless, intel based PC a few days ago.
Installed Daphile on a stick, plugged the stick into the PC, and it worked pretty much right off the bat, no problems.
Plugged in my USB DAC and a USB hard drive with my music, and I had music playing within a few minutes. It had to be the easiest setup I've done for a PC.
So thanks very much for this software.
But now I do have a problem. I put all my music on a SSD. Plugged the SSD into my PC, but the SSD doesn't get recognized. I had the SSD plugged into a SATA port, and also tried a USB port with an adapter, and nothing.
I formatted the SSD in windows using exfat for the format.
Maybe this is more of a linux question, but wondering what I'm doing wrong?
I did some research, and it seems like I might have to do a few things in linux to support exfat.

Chassis is very nice, although it is not cheap, but there are not a lot of options for a passively cooled PC chassis.
Motherboard is obsolete, not sure if you can still find them. It is the MB that is recommended at the jplay forum.
For the processor, I was looking for something relatively cheap and low power, compatible with the MB. At jplay, they like a xeon processor, but it is kind of pricey.
I may build a 12v linear supply but I had the xbox supply sitting around so I used it.

bud when i was ripping a cd that was not able to tack i wanted to add the album cover later.
Is there a way to edit the tack that is already on the hard drive?
my current method is, copy the file to another machine edit the file and replace the old one on the Daphile computer, refresh the library and we are there.
There must be a simpler way

And also absolutely crazy too, using a powerful (and power hungry) server CPU for audio playback which even an embedded ARM/MIPS CPU consuming single watts can handle with ease reliably.
It's just right now Daphile is intended for intel type processors which aren't really the best for mobile.
If I wanted something like this in a mobile solution, I would probably look at using a Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone Black for the hardware. There are software packages for those platforms like Volumio or Runeaudio. They both have threads going here.
You can find DACs that plug into the Pi, and probably for the BBB also.

In thinking about it, the problem with a really mobile solution is controlling the player. At home, with a wifi network its easy. Elsewhere, not sure what you would do. You can get little displays and add some buttons to the rPi and BBB, but then you need software and it gets complicated.

I was thinking along the lines of a Dell Venue 11 Pro with an external DAC and HD.
The Dell supposedly gets about 10 hrs on a single charge and has an option to swop batteries.
Oh! and another thing... Do you have any pics of your DHT headphone amp?
