bohrok2610, as I see, both DACs have the common part with different DAC modules?

Few years ago I also did the modular DAC, with changeable modules.
The common part consists of - USB/SPDIF/Optical inputs, RCA output connectors, Control Unit, Headphone Amplifier, Power Supply.
It was very interesting to be able to compare different DACs with all other things being equal (power and input interfaces).
The modules I made: AD1862, AK4490/93, AK4495, AK4499ex, Rohm DB34352, BD34301.

Alex.

P.S. I don't want to impose my opinion on anyone, so I won't share the results of these comparisons. But it was interesting.

Most of my DAC boards have the same format so they can be fitted to the same chassis and use same modules. I have made such DACs with AD1862 (NOS), ES9038Q2M (dual mono), AK4490/93 (dual mono), ES9039Q2M and AK4191+AK4499EX. In addition I've made a couple of DACs which also fit into the same chassis but need slightly different modules: PMD100+PCM1702 and RTZ+PCM2DSD. Of those DACs I currently use only ES9039Q2M and AK4191+AK4499EX.

The DACs are powered with SilentSwitcher that mitigates power on/off transients as it has a slow-start and low output capacitance which helps DAC output stage op amp rails to drain out very quickly at power off.
There is also an output relay in the built-in headphone amp but that is more for DC protection.
