For windows a driver is needed. With proper driver it works very well and sound quality is very good to excellent. With MacOs it need no driver at all.
Buffalo IIISE with Ian's FIFO and Luckit WaveIO
Just finished my DAC. As Luckit WaveIO supports two simultaneous outputs, SPDIF and I²S, and Buffalo DAC supports to switch between two inputs, also SPDIF and I²S, I managed to be able to switch between Buffalo onboard Clock (and SPDIF) - and Ian's FIFO Clock (and I²S). Interesting comparison! Furthermore I realized to switch onboard clock between mains/ shunt regulator supply - and battery LiFePO4 supply, indeed an improvement with the latter. FIFO dual XO board is always fed with battery LiFePO4.

ElectrArt PCM2DSD and DSD principle board
Have Build PCM2DSD which convert PCM to DSD,and DSD signal pass 8TAP FIR filter to convert to analog. There are 4 74x574 cihp which could be cheaper than DAC。
1. DSD principle + PCM2DSD + UCC power
2.PCM2DSD
3.PCM2DSD + UDA

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

my 2x TDA1545 + CS8414 DAC 🙂
there's X-Fi Surround Pro 5.1 i modded w/ linear PSU for USB input (the internal DAC was broken after my screwdriver accidentally shorted the VOut w/ its Vdd
)
there's also an AZ1 and 12AT7 for the output 🙂
i forgot to remove my laptop in the 1st pic 😛
you all makes me embarassed of my works.i'm crap on designing

Hi guys, I'm on the forum a few days. I want to share hot news. Photo on my DAC. His appearance is not impressive. But, it applied a new technical solution. Allowing chip RSM1794A, double as a voltage amplifier. For example, 0 dB - 20 volts at the output. The connection galvanic. This solution has been sought by the Eurasian Patent Office. 201300368 priority number from 08 - 04 - 2013. Examination has already been passed. Analogues prejudicial solutions found. In the summer I'll introduce you with this technical solution. In the meantime, I would like to discuss with you the prospects for this DAC.

Hi,
DDDAC under construction.
I am waiting for 1794S mainboard in order to finalize this design...

looks great!
why you covered the supply caps btw? 🙂

Hi,
vain attempt ( ? ) to do a kind of electrostatic screen in order to reduce
interference but gorgeous ( ! ) visual effect ( to my eyes )...

DAC with Tube Buffer Preamp
My version of DAC with Tube Buffer output which acts as a Pre-amp. The Dac uses AK4399 Dac chipset and XMOS built-in into the PCB. Viewing the images:
1. Top Left corner is the AK4399 and XMOS PCB
2. Top Right corner is Tube Buffer and pre-amp PCB
3. Bottom left and middle are transformers for DAC and Tube
4. Black casing is the Slot-in CDrom(DVD)
Cheers.

Great Dude questions
Rock,
What input do you use for this DDDAC? On their site they sell the complete kit with a XMOS USB card, which I see it's missing in your DAC.
I am also interested in the power supply you use. Again, it doesn't look like one from DDDAC. Can you please give a reference for it?
Thank you.

ScarF,
this Dac is fitted with 1794S mainBoard...
Only one Spdif input ( the more musically satisfying to my ear ).
Psu board is from DDDAC but i have broken off all the surface dedicated to original power transformer ( encapsulated )in order to swap this one for a 250VA toroid.
My very last version is, now, fitted with a separated power supply ( 300VA / 300000 microFarads / 170 mH power choke ) dedicated to power only Dac modules ...
Custom output transformers replaced Pio capacitors.
