My DAC is finished! PCM1794 with three output modes. "Digital filter" is for typical oversampling, "OFF" is for NOS a la DDDAC and "Passive" is NOS with Abraxalito's Chelibidache filter -my preference.
Ten separate Salas' shunt regulators, a small TPA6120a2 headphone amp and a display https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...logic-display-for-wave-io.371967/post-6644547

Thank you George! I'm not much more than an amateur myself. I started building this five years ago with total ignorance of sampling theory. And I'm not far from that now. It has been a long way to learn the basics and I enjoyed it very much. Here is some funny read... https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/nos-oversampling-and-now-hybrid.366298/post-6492774

Very nice build! I'm planning of building a Miro DAC myself at the moment. What I/V opamp are you using? And how do you control the display? (Where do you get the data?)
Opamp-OPA1611 . I tried everything possible.

Nice build! Can't imagine it was easy to route all the internal cabling that nice and tidy.My DAC is finished! PCM1794 with three output modes. "Digital filter" is for typical oversampling, "OFF" is for NOS a la DDDAC and "Passive" is NOS with Abraxalito's Chelibidache filter -my preference.

Thanks! It wouldn't be possible without custom PCBs. A lot of wiring is eliminated by using aligned pin headers.
Very nice! What inter stage transformer you use?
Is that a relay attenuator network in the front?

JG

The I/V / isolation / interstage transformer is this one.......

The row of relays at the front is input selection.

Here’s my first Ian Canada build. RPI 4 8g, StationPi Pro, ReceiverPi Pro II, FifoPi Q7, ES9038q2m dual mono II, OPA 631 I/V, LifePO4 MkIII.
Took me about 3 months to design, and resource the parts.

Here is my streamer and DAC.
Based on:
1. RPI4 + shieldpi + Fifopi Q7
2. OS: Volumio + Tidal connect
3. PSU XFMR: 2 custom toroidy suppreme 60VA, each 6 secundairy voltages. 30Va R-core xfmr for RPI PSU
4. PSU: LM317 preregulator + 9 Jung-Didden supperregulators. All with sense connections up to millimeters from load, meaning mOhms of PSU output resistance
5. Salas L-adapter for 5V RPI (shielpi is having high capacity hybrid elektrolytics on board as well)
6. AD1862 DAC (based on MIRO's design). (PSU scoped at DAC powerpins is a flat line.)
7. IV- converter. Mirror based design with J-fet B1 output buffer at 10mA. +-2...4mV output offset. No global feedback.
8. Power management board:
- 4sec pressing ON-button = all switches on and RPI is starting up
- Once RPI switched on, output relay is activated (relay can be seen on IV PVB)
- Again pressing On/off button = all switches OFF, except for RPI
- RPI is safely shutting down. Once current consumption drops below set value, R-core xfmr for RPI is switched off as well.
In the weekend directly compared with my bluesound Node 2I. My DIY build has clearly more transparancy, when switching between Bluesound and my build using input selection on my preamp. The difference is quite clear, as if a piece of fabric is placed over the speakers with the bluesound.
Now I can start building the enclosure.
It will be very similar as the rest of my DIY system: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...d-state-pics-here.96192/page-368#post-7159684
Plan is to have +-Diameter 50mm smoked grey polycarbonate window for the display.

@percival007: Did you implement DEM clocking?
I’d be interested to hear your comments on how they compare in terms of sound quality.
