Greetings!

Would you please look at this picture to have the choice transformers for the DAC

thank you interested in the cost of a complete DAC 32, but you do not compare the price of products, because:

this is the price for the finished product, (it's not like dac kit) you use, so for the cost of a finished product is very expensive many different stages such as:

Labor costs for installation
costs for buildings
cost to run and complete
warranty costs.
........

I wasnt suggesting amanero, warranty, or the IV were included in the $450, in fact that was pretty specifically my point ie. that these items were part of the ~ +$750, not just some transformers and a case. still a little rich IMO, but one must not discount warranty/support as a significant cost for a manufacturer.

what makes you think the real transformer requirements are different to what is supplied?.... that seems an odd question. the IV is an opamp IV, using shunt super regulators, which have a fair bit more dropout voltage than standard IC based regs, the exact requirements will vary based on the supply voltage of opamps you use, the dac regulators will vary somewhat depending on what clock speed and source material bandwidth (44.1khz or 384khz). whether you are using the LCD, whether you are running oversampling etc etc

using the supplied tx as a guide seems a safe bet. I wouldnt go any lower on the dac supply, especially if you want to experiment with running AVCC at higher voltage than 3.3v. the ones for the IV (I run 3.6v, some people run up to 4v, but I dont think thats worth the possible risks/shorter life myself)

I would allow 4-7vdc dropout/headroom on the tx for the IV stage, above the voltage you will give the opamps

Just let me respond once more to clarify, then I'm happy to let this die.

The completed DAC with Amanero and warranty is approx $1100, exact price not given. That is basically for a working, built DAC with 1 year warranty. It really did not come across to me that you were referring to this package, but that is the only package that includes the Amanero and warranty, and is not part of this GB.

For the transformer, the basis for my question was that transformer was speced as something OR something else, not a typical transformer spec. In a later post, it was explained that the actual requirements are a combination of the two, which is what I expected, I just wanted to confirm this to be true.
