Zizzidesign,
I don't want to put you down or anything, but you should have a closer look before asking questions. The lcd is by the fresnel, it always is there or between two if a fresnel is used. If you want an idea of the basics of layaout of a DIY projector go to DIYLabs and look at the design pages.

hey @ all,
"while digesting flowers" lol,
and thanks for the nice comments.
there is a "plan" attached. maybe that helps provided that u are using the same fresnel and lens.
fresnel is a f=210/210 mm and the lens is a varifocus 280-320. if u cannot buy that stuff in the us then take the supplier where i got my stuff from.
the fresnel is not splitted, just cutted to 180 x 138mm.
a soup ladle as a reflector will do the job in case u cannot find a proper one.
condensers and fs-mirrors in the u.s: http://www.anchoroptics.com/
instead of the mh-bulb i use, u can also use the one ace is using. that'll fit.dunno whether the ballast and ignitor fit in. the optical axis for the hole set-up is 69 mm from bottom.
well, question could be how to make the enclosure:
cut the front-, rear- and bottom plate as on my plan.
put in what you have and try.
then cut an alloy sheet ( 0,8 to 1mm thickness) and start to tighten it on the left or right sight and bend it over the round corners. go step by step and use screws to do that.
so you'll get to the other site and cut the rest off. that's it.
and be careful with the brown ribbon cable.don't let it dangling, and never bend it or lay it flat. stripping of the lilliput can be found on this site ( a pdf) : www.wschmid.de . and be careful while handling with all pcb's due to electrostatic discharge. you must be grounded all the time during working on it.
here's the plan:
the panel holder made of plywood.

How was the stripping of the lilliput? What was the hardest part? Im about to do it myself and im really nervous, dont want to waste 200 bucks.
Stripping is easy, just once stripped make sure not to screw it up like me lol. I screwed mine up because of static electricity, never worried about it so discharge yourself before touching it.
how to you discharge yourself?
Grab somthing that is grounded, such as a water pipe, that should discharge you, in computers its normally the metal on the case, but do it often and dont wear nylon tops or synthetic clothing.
You can also get a anti static discharge strap from radio shack, they are cheap and keep you grounded from static electricity all of the time, well they help. Also dont work on carpet and dont put any pcb on carpet or cloth, paper is your best bet or a rubber antistatic mat.
Trev
Ya thats fine, just dont have the pcb or its electronics on any static material, ie: nylon cloth.
Ill second touching a metal computer case to ground yourself. All the wrist bands do is keep you constantly grounded to the third prong of a plug or to the metal case. Static Info
Yeah, when I've worked on pc's, it has always been touch the case the put an anti-static strap on and attach it to the case, and I never had a problem, I'm gonna have to strip my lilliput soon too
.

All the wrist bands do is keep you constantly grounded to the third prong of a plug or to the metal case.
Dont go conceting it to the houses mains ground though because if the there is a fault in the house, and if its gone to the earth, you will wear it. Anything metal is fine.
Hey ace or flowers if you have time do you think you could post some pics of how and where you set all your lilliput boards and controllers? I'd really appreciate it, thanks.
Have a look in here buddy to see the way i did things.
