Current calculations of LM4780

We want to implement 100V Audio Line in one of my project.The path is like this
Audio CODEC or Microphone Audio --->Preamplifier---->Audio Power Amplifier --->Step up transformer-->Distribution network-->Step Down Transformer(which is at loudspeakers) --->Loud Speakers (Each- 6W RMS,8Ω).

Maximum No of speakers : 8 Nos.
Impedance of spekers:8Ω
Maximum Wattage of each Speaker: 6W,RMS.

Power Amplifier wattage - 6W,RMS x 8 -->48W RMS.
We selected LM4780 as a power amplifier and using single output channel of 60W with DC Supply of ±35V Output at 8Ω load impedance.

We did the calculations for the step-up transformer and we ordered.I need Power supply specifications for generation of ±35V DC for LM4780.Supply Current was only given as spec in LM4780 datasheet.

Shall I need to take the loudspeakers,step-up transformers/Step-down current calculations into consideration or not?

Please give calculation regarding Output Current for the Power supply required?

This thread is in the wrong forum (this is Forum problems) - can a mod please move it?

To your question: since the load your amp will see is 8 ohms, you can size your transformer assuming you want +/- 35V which will give about 32V peak at the load which is 4A peak, or 2.8A RMS / 22.5V RMS in 8 ohms which is about 65 W per channel.
A 200 to 300 VA transformer for stereo would be fine, you'need about 24VAC.

Not that out of place, it's a PA system question after all 😉

If he had made a similar question about the LM3886 powering a Line 6 guitar amp in the Chip Amp Forum , he would most certainly have been moved to the Instrument Amps section 😉

Just sayin' 😛
