is that interesting good or bad? 😉
whats the driver centres?

Bad. Very bad.

The driver centres are the central point of the drivers! It's effectively a problem of wave-form integration. Not something you can sort out either with crossovers, or digital EQ. They need moving closer together, and with woofers that size, I don't think you can do it -they'd have to be overlapping.

Here's an idea I've been thinking about.

An FR125S in an open baffle, crossed over at 6dB/octave to a pair of WR125ST's (16-ohm) at the baffle step frequency. This should eliminate the need for a resistor in front of the FR125, and give excellent coherence between the lows and mids.

I'd put the WRST's in a 40L closed box, rolled off at 100 Hz second-order (using the FMod filters), giving a perfect 4th-order crossover to my active subs, and relieving the WR's of the bass load.

so is that just that the two bass woofers need to be closer together, so mabye use 8"s, or is that for all of the drivers?

ok, would it just be easier to say what i want-

i need:
- reasonable bass (-3dB @ 50Hz)
- mid and top using my FR125S
- a bass driver to take over from the FR125S
- enclosure no bigger than 20-25L
- front baffle no taller than 800mm and wider than 300mm

Dont mind any configuration of enclosure e.g.
i could have half open baffle and a bass enclosure for example.

these are my requirements. please help.

i have to many ideas

Ideally the driver centres should be a 1/2 wavelength or less at the crossover (but can be stretched to a wavelength). At 150 Hz a half wavelength is about 1.1 m.

So even 2 18" drivers would still allow you to stay within this limit (ie distance from centre of bottom woofer to the FR125 <1.1m, less if you XO higher)

---as above and....---

"how can i bi amp it and cross it at 150-250Hz?

i was planning on making a gainclone, so does that mean i need to make two of them? and an active crossover?

thanks

will having a woofer of say 90dB and the FR125S at 86dB be a problem?

ok,

so if i make two gainclones, how can i make an active crossover?

just about all of the woofers i have found that have a suitable Qts (0.5+) have a senstivity of around 90dB. are there any drivers im missing for around £30 each for 4 Ohm or £60 if i am only using one 8 Ohm in each speaker.

ok, thanks, so...

- how do i connect two power amps to my one output on my Nad L53?

- what would be the best woofers to use for around £30 each if i need two per cabinet to around £65 each if i only use one better quality one.
(that have a senstivity of around 86dB)

- will i be able to get around a -3dB of around 50Hz while using 2 x 8" or 2 x 10" in OB? (or even just one of the two?)

A Y-cable of somesort -- you could build it into one of the GCs

How low an OB goes depends on its size. Yours is pretty small, so without EQ of some sort (passive, active or just a high Q woofer), you aren't going to get 50 Hz.

and what kind of 3dB figure would i be looking at with two 8" or 10" drivers? (as an estimate)?

and how high will my sub go? i cant find a figure anywhere. (its a Tannoy TS8)
