I am having a weird issue with XLS 802
Amplifier appears to operate properly but anything you plug behind will make signal led and clip led full on .
Anybody come across that ?
Kind regards
Sakis

Must be something there that puts your indicators to go haywire..... DC?... If not, then no clue, sorry 😕
Oh... one more thing. Check for ground continuity from input to PCB.

Its normal for some Crown of that era that often resistors go open ... but it will be not easy to trace that i was just hopping that someone had seen this before ...

It seems that there is LM 339 involved in those two leds Replaced that since i have seen them fail often in VU application especially in the VU of the Sanyo plus 55.
No change .
Problem is that LM 339 is nowhere to be seen in the existing schematics available in the network. Either its a different version ( mine is xls 802 D ) .
Next step is to advance my troubleshooting based on the known operation of the 339In between if someone can come up with a proper or complete schematic i will be more than glad to have
thank you !

LM339 works there with split rails measured Pin 3 9+ volts while pin 12 minus 12 volt that also not look right
I need schematic

thanks to a guy called Kip got my shelf a compete schematic helping me understand the principal of operation of the 339 at this application.
Problem in the amplifier was the reference of clip common for both amplifiers since this is coming from +Vcc .
Obviously my initial guess was correct and one simple resistor that provides the clip reference was totally open like others that i have found in the past in XLS series
R159 150K was found guilty !!!!
