Hi
I have a Crest VS 900 amplifier that has developed a rather nasty problem. It has a positive waveform clip and goes into protection upon signal being applied to either channel. It seems to have a DC offset problem also. If the signal is applied very very slowly I can get several volts out into the 8ohm load before it goes into protection. The positive waveform is totally clipped and the negative is fine. I cannot get a schematic for it so I am asking if someone has had experience with one of these. There seems to be a STK module in the circuit that I assume is part of the front end, but this is a guess.
Any thought here would be appreciated.
Thanks
Joe

ReHi!
...might be an issue with the power supply.
Did you check the internal voltage rails?
Good luck

Hi Markus
Just finished rechecking the power supply with no fault found. I suspect the STK 3152 module is bad.

I know this a old old post, But I just picked up a 900 that only one channel seems to do this. Channel b seems to clip early and if more drive is applied the amp goes into protect. What is the problem?
