cramming boards into an existing chassis

All is good and fine unless one of your modules uses separate 0V and GND. And don't put the antenna under the shielded case as it will block your receiver in the most directions. Put it on the front or back where it got (likely) around 180° unblocked reception.

Just use this with a decent 5V linear supply if you have issues with the one you bought, can likely hide it inside your amp case somewhere there’s a plastic panel.

Is a Bluetooth 5.0 board that uses a 32 bit processor and costs next to nothing. The large capacitors are output coupling and can be bypassed, replaced if needed but are actually decent sounding…

Make tone changes if you really need to within your iPhone.

I have one in an ancient Phase Linear chassis that has a Tomlinson Holman amp board, isolation transformer/line filter inside for casual listening. Replaced the sheet metal top cover with a thin fiberglass copy.

Well, Phase...I wish I had heard your review a few days ago. The system I ordered was close to $30, shipped on a slow boat, whereas your solution has 2 of these on my doorstep tomorrow for less than $10. In fact, your solution should fit right in the hole in the front panel. Certainly a great opportunity to compare. And it makes the shielding that much easier.
