Good songwriter, crook singer
Except when using his natural voice as in "Lay, lady lay", almost anything Bob Dylan wrote other people do better.
E.g Hard Rain by Brian Ferry & Roxy Music.
Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds. (especially)

Mmm..arguably (?)...
I like Jad Fair`s Jambalaya (H.Williams sr.) Quite simpel.
Or Psychick TV`s Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun (Pink Floyd ) for a more sinister view on psychedelics.

And how about Sensational Alex Harvey`s Faith Healer "done" by Foetus In Excelsis Corruptus Deluxe. 🙄
blinded by the light - Manfred manns earth band ( original by the boss) ( i think~!!!!!!!)
He writes great somgs but just can't sing
Cassandra Wilson's version of Van Morrison's 'Tupelo Honey'
Buy it, listen, enjoy and post your thanks.

Revolting *****' version of Rod Steward's "Do You Think I'm Sexy" is definitely better.😉
Also Jello Biafra (of Dead Kennedys) made pretty nice cover of an old classic: "We Gonna Get Out of This Place". http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...102-2847070-9586548?v=glance&s=music&n=507846

Almost any cover by Joe Cocker:
She came in through the bathroom window
The Letter
and of course
I get by with a little help from my friends

Does this one have cover?
"Not necessarily white", said The Red Squaw of Pride,
from Bob Dylan's pen:
--------------------------
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
You can't take it with you
and you know that it's too worthless to be sold,
They tell you, "Time is money"
as if your life was worth its weight in gold.
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
--------------------------
I do not know anyone, that has had the courage
to ask him for to cover any of the songs on "Slow Train Coming".
Maybe they can't be done better?
That is what I think!

Only Bob Dylan can sing his songs. No others. Few songs in the following album maybe ...Circlotron said:Except when using his natural voice as in "Lay, lady lay", almost anything Bob Dylan wrote other people do better.

Eric Burdon Cover?
is this the same as the old classic, with Eric Burdon and The Animals
-----------
We gotta get out of this place
If it's the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
Cause girl, there's a better life for me and you
Now my girl you're so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true, yeah
You'll be dead before your time is due, I know it
Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin'
Watched his hair been turnin' grey, yeah
He's been workin' and slavin' his life away
I know he's been workin' so hard
-----------
I wouldn't think that it is.
I have hard to imagine someone singing it better
than Eric - Eric's Voice really got that special "brutal power"
😎 😎 😎 Blues For Peace - "And they shall beat their swords into guitars"

Re: Eric Burdon Cover?
Yes it's the same. Another cover by Dead Kennedys is Elvis' "Viva Las Vegas".

I think both Hendrix and DMB have a better cover than Dylan on "All Along the Watchtower."
