Hello,
I'm in portland oregon and I love to ride with my friends on huge mass bicycle rides. We all have speakers on our bikes - interconnected with radios.
I'd like to add some lower end to our crew. Its not easy outdoors, but I'd like to try my best. I need help sourcing a woofer and an efficient amp for a speaker box in the 3.5-4 cubic feet size. (smaller is fine too)
If I wasn't asking for help, I would drift towards a dual coil 15" PA speaker in a box ported up a little high for volume, run on a two channel 24v dayton amp board. Maybe run wide open just for more music. But I'm open to anything.
Does anyone have time to tell me what to purchase?

- full range not needed (other speakers are around)
- Loud over deep bass - if tuning up higher helps volume, lets do that. (but still low and warm)
- NOT high fidelity... just the best we can do while prioritizing volume
- DC of course. Can't draw a ton of juice - but I'll get the right batteries.
- Affordable, simple, lightweight are pluses

Bicycle rear rack. 1/2 ply. I can do it. These amps are weak, so running two channels are a way to cheat a bit more volume.
This is for a bicycle? Won't that throw off the balance unless it's mounted down low, near the axle?Bicycle rear rack. 1/2 ply. I can do it. These amps are weak, so running two channels are a way to cheat a bit more volume.
There is also those wacky Boominator Folks... they have a halfinator that is sorta along the lines of this project... but maybe not 'simple'
Only way to have larger speakers is to build it as a tralier with two wheels of its own.
Anything heavy mounted up high on a rear rack will badly unbalance the bike.
Some mount a tube with speakers on each end, on a rear rack.

So you're going to be dragging all this on a trailer behind your bike, and how far are you going?

I am well versed in doing this. Whatever I do here will be lighter and easier than what I've put on a rear rack before.
Guys.... no trailer. trailers are for losers.
Hey, what do you mean loser? I live in a trailer, down by the river.
Trust me - I've been at this a long time... I just need help with the specs and the computer modeling to get the port right.
Well that's more like it. 🙂

- Could anyone consult me on a mobile subwoofer build?
