How about this version? FRANK ZAPPA -- CHUNGA'S REVENGE (11-23-1974) - YouTube
awesome version.....gets pretty trippy when put to Disney! (was that a little homage to the wizard of oz in there...b/w to color?)
Zappa was a perfect example of blues fusion himself and was actually one heck of a blues guitarist.

BTW, I love early ZZ Top
Oh, yeah. Sorry for OT, Bob. This isn't new, but since Matt brought it up, I thought it should be tossed out for those who missed their hungry years.
You'd never guess Billy Gibbons was only 21 belting out Brown Sugar.
Zappa has been one of my favorite pure guitar players, and early ZZ Top is fantastic! I can't listen to the synth crap that they did on the Eliminator album, and on. I think of Trower as more on the rock side, and I love his tone, texture, and phrasing. Little Bit of Sympathy (2007 Remaster) - YouTube
I love all blues music, there would be no contemporary blues if it weren’t for the original stuff so it’s all on topic as far as I’m concerned and as long as we can relate the connections of older styles and techniques to the newer stuff it’s all good...... that pretty much covers all of it!
Timmy, Almost 50 yrs later and still plugging!

Blues crosses into the country realm rather seamlessly

I didn’t know the Warren/Marcus connection.....apparently they met In Asheville.
Artist You Need to Know: Marcus King Band - Rolling Stone
I used to go to Warren Haynes Christmas show in Asheville every year for about 20yrs until we moved down here in ‘12 .....a lot of big talent, it would sell out pretty dang fast.
