How far is the OP from Aluminum sections shop?
How many watts needed to dissipate?
Ambient temperature?

He's in New Zealand, so ambient isn't likely to be very warm. I would expect a maximal range of -10C ->+30C
So in a country with a total population of about our sixth largest city...Get window sections, and M2.5 or 3 screws, washers and nuts, and get to work using scrap TV heat sinks or window sections.
Still no idea of the heat source. So no idea of required size.

Totally, given there is so few of them in existence, the number of Kiwis that is found outside of NZ is quite incredible, especially here in Australia. I reckon about half the worlds Kiwis are in Australia ... (I jest guys, My ex and some of my favorite peeps are kiwis. my ex is from Wakanui)
Home is Auckland so temp range is largely: 10-30c, It might get to 1c on the coldest nights in winter and over 30c during a heatwave.
There are a lot of kiwis in Aus, most seem to go to the Gold Coast it seems. Don't ask me why. It seems strange to me to trade such a mild climate as NZ with almost nothing that can kill you apart from human stupidity or old age, for such a stinking hot climate as Aus with almost all of the worst nasties known to man..... Higher pay I guess.
There are also surprisingly large numbers in Europe and America too.

God no. I have no idea why you would pick the Gold Coast. I lived there for a year when starting my multimedia studies 20 years ago. it was horrible; i've always hated it. the place and people are plastic AF. I have good friends in Byron shire and that's much better. I'm up past the sunshine coast and about 20km inland, in the hinterland. We get taipans, king browns, red belly blacks, kangaroos (those guys will F**K you up) as well as some spiders and occasional crocs in the wrong rivers. Its just something you learn to live with and I dont even think about it, even though Coastal Taipans are one of, if not THE most dangerous snake in the world and i've nearly stood on one more than once. Luckily that usually happens only in winter, when they are pretty slow/sluggish. Although pretty aggressive (not as bad as King Browns), they will generally just take themselves away at the earliest opportunity; not really confrontational, so just givem some space and they'll generally just slink away before youve even noticed they are there..

So what is your amp?
Output watts and devices?
Class A or AB?
I think you can use pieces of window sections, with a thicker plate if needed.

Hi Hugh, if you have contact with Julian, maybe you should give him a gentle prod to answer emails and the phone, based on feedback in this thread, that is not happening.

As I said earlier. This is in preparation for Papa's promised THF51s design and also for a LuFo.
Hence 0.25 C/W at the very smallest but preferably bigger to buy headroom.

That's good to hear. Yeah I would imagine audio and diy is booming at the moment, with people spending so much time at home.
I sent Julian an email back on the 11th November, and he finally sent me a reply over the weekend (some 5 weeks or so later), saying yes, they were still making heat sinks and get in touch if I needed anything. So you might have to keep sending him emails till you get a response. Problem is - if it takes so long to answer an order enquiry, how long is it going to take to supply the goods!
You have only one source or what?
I would have used a motorcycle head as a heat sink, or would have had one cast and machined in 5 weeks.
Seriously, sections have gone up in price, now about $4 a kilo in cut sizes.
Search for heat sink sections in your part of the world, and take it from there.
You get them at large shops selling window sections.
They come in 12, 15 and 20 foot lengths, they cut them with a chop saw here, a little extra is paid for that.
Easier to handle, and they have the equipment, you need to cut anyway.

I got a hold a person by phone (it was early morning there)and the told me he should get a hold of the manager to contact me.
Good luck with that, if he can't contact people here in Australia, then Sweden is a long way away.
You mean to say you want heat sinks shipped from Australia to Sweden?
And you have no alternate source in the whole wide world?
Just search for heat sinks in India, or Delhi, India.
Delhi is the hub for electronics manufacturing in India.
I would just buy an aluminum window section, and file off some projections to suit my device.

Conrad is very much in business, but they are a manufacturer and spend most of their time supplying very large orders. They will sell happily to DIYers, no issues at all, but just keep at them because only one guy - Julian - does all the documentation and email traffic. Their products are exceptional and very suited to Class A amplifier design because the fins are all vertical on a long heatsink. Their best is the MF35-100, a big seller and beautifully coated.
