Comments on Class D by Paul McGowan

OK dreamth, please arrange a PhD Electrical Engineering for me. Just name your price. I am already quite experienced in telling BS so that aspect is fine.
The same was going on in Poland some 30 years ago and I'm still kicking my fat **** I skimped on the money.
Anyway ,
Jean -Paul , Romanian girls are first rate but do you really want to live in Romania to utilize that title??
Can any of you answer the question if the subjective jump in headroom and "breath" when going in class D from 80W module to 300W module is comparable to the perception one is getting employing AB class amps?

That title can't be chequed anymore...there's no authority to do it and every diploma emitted in Romania is valid in the EU, thus in Germany too.You only need to back up it with real knowledge if you want to work in the private sector, but I know people working at the EU parliament in Bruxeles who used their romanian diplomas to get really well paid jobs in the technical comissions or affiliated private technical advice boards.

Elena Ceausescu got hers free. Crazy that's still going on!
The real problem is that under the communist regime it was just a handfull of people who could get such a fake title and I'm tilted to believe she was the only one to get it in the whole country. She had three children of which 2 had real internationally recognized PHD titles in chemistry and mathematics...Nowadays we have litterally thousands of them running the government, a complete mafia from top to bottom.I think Cosa Nostra envies us for the efficiency through which some people got so tight to power .The police selling the drugs they confiscate from drug dealers outright from the police station yard, illiterate secret service agents claiming they know 7 foreign languages while not knowing basic romanian grammar rules, etc...our President since 2012 now has 5 big houses in one of the most expensive town of the country and he couldn't care proving how he got them from a teacher's wages before he even got into politics...

I find class D to be extremely faithful to the input signal. I like that. All the way form my first B&O ASP1000 when they where released and now also nC400.

Me too. I always thought an amp was something that took an input, made it bigger, nothing more or less. If I want to add something to the input, I can always tailor it via dsp to my own liking.

I built a class D several years ago using a opa2132 op amp input integrator and cmos comparator. I cannot tell the difference between it or a good analog amp.
The only effect it has is audible hiss added to fm broadcasts. Switching freq 2.5mhz
At that frequency, overcurrent shutoff brcomes very difficult to be fast enough.

Tempting, I must admit.
Ukrainians are more beautiful in general. We just have a wider race blender where you meet southern black eyed girls with northern blond blue -green eyed ones. Now to be honest the most beautiful girls I ever saw were spanish, british, turks and ukrainians and they were all in Oxford, but the kindest ones were two, one canadian and one german and I put them above all the human race as they helped me unconditionally , puting themselves in real danger where they didn't even knew me.And I met them in Oxford too 🙂

How do you know it is faithful to the signal ? Because you can measure it ? 80' receivers were already extremely faithful to the signal.
They need to be a lot beter than this to take a hold in HiFi .

That must have been the oasis because I spent two years in Hermany and it was a desert for a whole week and some spring shots in the Disco clubs Saturday night, Britonesses I saw only in the movies .I guess all pretty ones are hired and the rest , well keep Britons tinkering with radios what Ross Walker implied and I agree . Spanish and Ukrainian ones no doubt . They will cheat on you but will never leave you what my underground Ukrainian dentist said to me after my first wife took of with fat American who owned a bar , or was it a coffee shop , don't remember since it was in last century.

Oxford is an oasis for beautiful girls as any university city everywhere, no doubt about it.Before living Romania I had this opinion that our girls are the hottest ones on Earth ...and some of them seem to be, but in general our girls are smallish and asking constantly for protection and favours...unlike the nordics. The nordics have some sort of beauty of character that you don't see in a photo...you need to meet one.Tall...blond, a bit muscular, very, very independent which some like and others hate, but honestly who wants a woman that complains about anything all the time waiting for the man to bring her the Moon every night? Some of those nordics who emmigrated to Canada or New Zealand are just killer Queens. Some civilisations promote independent characters and honestly I'd trade any beauty for that.
As with british ladies, I was told by an old irish who used to be an anthropologist, there are 4 main types, but they blend lately with other southern races and some outputs are damn impressive. Some don't like red haired prone to vitamin D loss or autoimune disease, but here's a "rosie " one I met and I liked instantly. If I'd only be 10 years younger...

Ok sorry! Please delete all the innapropriate comments cause you can! On a downside note I can't see any constructive discussion around BSaudio's opinions on class D...girls looked more appealing.Probably this topic was best served in the Lounge section.

It says you're a moderator.I thought mods can do whatever they want with a topic.I'll stop here with my ramblings .I have nothing serious to add on class D, there are way more knowledgeable people than me on that topic and I don't see them biting to this topic either...Paul McGowan has opinions on everything in the audio world...we can have our own too not necessarilly identical to his, but I think there's a different weight added to a topic when it starts with his name which makes it a more convergent topic than needed to have a full discussion. When you take into account the sheer volume of disputed things this guy told others it draws very clear lines with no real shadows .To me this debate looks dead from its infancy. Some like class D, some don't, some did listen to all sorts of class D amps, some made an opinion based on just a few of them...so it goes into the same statistical pool of what we believe or don't about things we know and things we don't know.
