Don't have a meeting scheduled presently, would be happy to have another meeting soon.
I meet with one friend every Sunday and work on speakers.
I'm a few blocks East of Campus on 12th.

Have you guys seen meetup.com it might be a good way to get people together. I wouldn't mind paying the fee if people would use it and we could always take up donations later.
Every sunday is often for me but I could meet every other possibly.

I wasn't aware of this thread. I had lived in Columbus for 7 years, from 1999 to 2006 before I moved to Bloomington, Indiana. I still occasionally visit Columbus to see friends!
Let me know if there's anything I can help with 🙂.

I would love it if you might help "voice" my speakers after I get them done. When might you be in town?

Hi Jon,
Nothing's planned for now. You mean the TB W5-704D 2.5-way? How will they be used? Since this is a 2.5-way design with full BSC, you don't want to place them close to walls, on a desk, in a cabinet, etc in a small room. You're aware of this, aren't you?

Yep,
I am aware, I will have them about 18" to 2 feet from the wall. I am not sure how much it will matter, My room is, I think, a nightmare for sound 🙄

I for one, would sure like to have Jay as our "Honorary Guest" if he's in town for a Columbus Audio get-together.
I like Bloomington better than Columbus, I must say, having lived there for a few years in the mid '80s. One of my favorite restaurants, Rudi's, is gone though. I trust Mother Bear's Pizza is still doing well?
FYI - I work weekends now, but after 5 PM would be ok for meetings. I have Thursday/Friday off.
Unfortunately, some of my friends left Columbus for their jobs. Anyway, I'll let you know if by any chance I visit Columbus.
Yes, Mother Bear's is still doing good. Famous for their pizza and hot wings. 🙂

Lol....Somehow I managed to wander away from this conversation, and missed your reply Jay. Also I didn't get any email notifications of the thread additions since. Anyhow, The room is 20X 16 but the shape and openings are probably the issues. Drawing is lame and obviously not scale.

Oh I forgot to mention....the ceilings are 10'. I am no room nodes/gains/losses guy, But it seems like I have the perfect storm of crappy room design.

Hi Critofur and all,
Are you still meeting from time to time? I'd be open to meeting if others are interested.
Kind Regards,
Mike

Would be happy have another meeting(s). Would like to find some mutually liked music for future meetings.
Some of the tracks I like to use for testing don't seem to be well known, one is Jennifer Warnes "Famous Blue Raincoat" - I have an "Alpine Reference Test CD" with that (and other songs) on it.
I think cello is hard to reproduce particularly well, so I like YoYo Ma's Bach two CD set.
I suppose I like most classic rock, 90's progressive, and 80's pop - but, I don't think I'd use the 80's pop for auditioning speakers / club meeting...

I am still interested in a local group here in Columbus. Please let me know if you have a meeting or anything.

What would you like to hear?
I have a pretty broad interest in Music, so I'm open to what other would like. I could bring a handful of CD's that I've used in the past for both reference/testing as well as just listening.
