Diyinhk now has an isolated board, which looks a bit better than my hacked one ! However, it still doesn't have termination resistors between the cm6631 and the isolator. ???

Termination resistor is not necessary from one source to one load and short tracks, overshots are very small, for long track is recomended equalize time response and eliminate overshots, signal integrity simulation is very useful, I think Diyinhk should do for this pcb.
Hi,
I remember reading somewhere that 176 works with the Asus firmware and their own driver, but it doesn't work with factory firmware and driver. There are sellers who will flash the firmware with either version before they ship the device.
Julcat has his working for this:

DIYINHK - what isolator IC did you choose ? Analog Devices ? Silabs ? IL ? Ti ?
cheers

Hey Regal,
I've just finished stage1 of a build using these two together - they do 176@24. however, it seems the cheaper CM6631 from this seller don't support that. I don't know exactly why - I know the driver is different, maybe the firmware is too.

CM6631A problem.
DIYINHK - the CM6631A spdif volume has 6dB gain over CM6631 so it is distorted. The only to fix this is -6dB volume in the PC.
Can you find out if this is a firmware or driver problem please ? What can I do to fix this ? Thank you !

No problem !
Hi,
My mistake - stupid me. It was a register setting on the wm8805 receiver.
cheers

Could the board work with Linus??? If yes, wich version???do i need particular driver???

Which board ? There are different ones.
I'm not aware of a Linux driver, but maybe someone else does ? Have you checked Asus' site about the Essence One ?
For the 192 issue, I'd check Windows' device settings and the ASIO bit depth driver first.
Have you tried your DAC with any other 192Khz sources ? Are you using spdif or I2S ?

The board is the chepest one, i USe it in i2s and i've the ns192 cd trasport that work well at 192 via i2s
If you want help, you have to do better than repeating what you wrote before hoping that's an answer. Read my my first reply to you again. I'm telling you to check your computer. You should use ASIO, not WASAPI, unless you have changed the device manager settings.
If that doesn't work, contact the seller.

I've tried to set Windows, at 24/96 and work good, at 24/192 there is a lot of noise (but you can ear the sample sound) and after restarting the dac only silence
Using asio i'm able to select 192 but the dac remain on 96!
Thanks for your help!

The problem is your computer settings. I'm not going to keep repeating myself. If you can't fix it, contact the seller.
I surrender, obiouvsly i'm not able to set the pc, i sent a pm to the seller, i Will post the answer!
Many Thanks!!!
Many Thanks!!!
If your DAC is use CM6631 it does not support 176.4 kHz I2S output. If your DAC use CM6631A it can support 176.4kHz I2S output.
Is there a 176.4 khz i2S output firmware for this chip yet ?
