I recently finished this 4-channel Amp built with two Class D Audio IRS 2x250 modules (they can be bridged to make a 2 x 500W amp, or a 3-channel 2x250, 1x500). I included a relay for 12V triggering by my receiver. The case is a Hammond 2U aluminum one (with my screws). I built this for use as a sub amp, but it sounds very nice with my Abbeys, driven from my receiver preamp.

Very nice, i want to build the same kit and i'm looking for 12v trigger, could you give please any further information about relay for 12V triggering

Connex NXD 8950th project

First drill holes for mounting print and mains transformer. Then cut 3 mm metric threads with the threader. I have divided my heatsink in two, so I have to stereo amps. The mains transformer is 250 volt primary 2*25 volt secondary 300 VA giving 25 volt x 1,414 = 35,4 volts DC (I haven't calculated with overvoltage in my home installation and the loss in the rectifier bridge - but the modules can take a max. of 40 volts DC, so I shopuld be on the safe side).

Connecting mains tranformer requires soldering thinner cables, since the mounting wholes on the board at to small. Both speaker out and DC in are sitting very close to each other, so be carefull not to make any shortcuts.

I have 10 modules and have testet 5 of these. All worked perfectly.

Very nice. Which chips have you? I have 8950th, but still miss to finalise my project, even though it's beginning to look like it's finished.

Could you tell about the sound quality?
Thanks.

Chips are, 4 TDA8924 modules, 3 bridged for the front 3 speakers and one in stereo mode for the surrounds.

Sound quality is pretty good, except the highs are a bit edgy.

T-Amp from a Nodus Psyclone PSP powered speaker system, installed inside a Rat Shack Minimus 7. Power via external 13.8V brick. Speaker in terminals are now power output to left speaker.
