"The Magnificent 700 Music for Christmas" This was in the discount bin at Sam Goody's in NYC -- bought it in 1974. Leeds school children (300 primary and 300 secondary) and some ringers. It is really a quite nice album.

A school choir of 20 kids can be like a cat menagerie, this group are very precisely arrayed in sound:

I gave myself an early Xmas present this year.

My VFET Part 1 amp was lonely…so I got it a twin to bi-amp with that someone offered up in the swap meet (Better than a puppy!).

Just finished making a few aesthetic and technical adjustments so they are more matchy😉

They sound fantastic driving my old KEF 104/2.

Chillin to some random Xmas Jazz playlist on iTunes…it’s all cool when Santa’s in town🎅😎

This is Eric Johnson's take on "The First Noel", from the 1997 guitar compilation album "Merry Axemas: A Guitar Christmas".

Since this upload is by Eric Johnson himself, I don't believe that there are any copyright issues.

So much great stuff on that album.
I was listening to it earlier today (I have the actual CD).

I also love:

A Spaceman Came Travelling - Chris de Burgh
Run With the Fox - Alan White and Chris Squire (miss you guys ❤️)
Ring Out Solstice Bells - Jethro Tull
I Believe in Father Christmas - Greg Lake
Anything by Vince Guaraldi for Charlie Brown Christmas (a million childhood memories)

And so many more.

For years I felt that it wasn't Christmas until someone played Happy Christmas (War Is Over). It came out when I lived in the arctic and that was a magical Christmas.

Merry Christmas (or Seasons Greetings/Happy Hanukah/Happy Kwanza/Happy Festivus to my DIYAudio friends

Have just been listening to 80s80s Italo Disco (I know, I know), they have been playing some retro 80s Christmas songs there.

Haven’t heard ANY Italo-Disco yet on that station however. I do have to shut it off or change it if they play Phil Collins when that happens.

I don't see any point in these new years concerts. Despite being proudly presented by one of the most prominent symphonic orchestras in the world, it's just plain and annoying waltz dance music. They could be much better if they played a reputable symphony, a piano concerto or the like. The classic literature is so plenty.
Do you have any idea why there were that many people participating in this? It's a well known Catholic Cristmas chant here in Germany!

Back to popular music: I hate those Xmas tear jerkers, with the Wahamageddon being the worst of all by far. But there are some few real gems:

I Believe in Father Cristmas by Greg Lake (as yet mentioned)
Thank Got It's Christmas by Queen
I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day by Wizzard
Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade

Happy new year!
