Choose a tweeter for me.

Hi I have a build starting this week, a 2.5 way with rev 15W/8530k01, which arrive tomo

Procrastinating over tweeter.
The design will be around 85db/1W
I shortlisted
Bozhen CQ76B, 76 or 66
Bliesma T25b-6 or T25s-6
Scan rev (can't afford Ellipticor)

Your suggestions wd be appreciated!

Well, not that my opionion counts for anything:

-I'm allergic to ribbons, so I'd pass on the first.

-If a given tweeter has quality metal dome and soft dome models, I'd generally lean toward the former, but it depends what you're doing with it and the details of the tweeter behaviour itself.
BlieSMa T25B-6 | HiFiCompass
BlieSMa T25S-6 (pre-production sample) | HiFiCompass
The former has lower linear distortion, the latter (at present, based on the pre-production data) lower high-order non-linear distortion < 2KHz, which does not appear to be explained by any significantly greater LF extension. YMMV on that one.

-You don't say which of Scan's Revelator models, and there are quite a few, but the original 9900 is still IMO the pick of the lot and mugs both the Bliesma units in HD terms, while being at least as good in FR. It arguably mugs both the 7000 ring-radiator & 7100 dome in HD too. So if it were my money, I'd be after the 9900. Although if you can stretch to it & live with the higher HD2, the beryllium dome 6640 has even lower high order products while still maintaining the 9900's excellent HD3 performance.

Me too, searching the net for reviews of T25. silk dome version has nice spec and quality parts. Only small issue is what Scootmoose mentioned re extension

Not regarding extension: regarding its inferior linear distortion (frequency response) to the metal dome model. The prototype soft dome model HDC tested does, however, appear to have superior high order non-linear / HD performance < 2KHz to the metal dome unit. Neither get near the 9900's HD performance, which is far superior to either.

Due to 2.5way layout and cab design, tweeter height is around 80-82cm, with cabinet tilting back slightly. By around 5 degrees
Because of this I took Bozhen off list because of possible vertical response issues.
Why I had BliesMa on list is the insanely low mms and aesthetically

SB 26 ADC or CDC is great.

Distortion is very low all the way down to 1.5kHz, it has no break up in the audio spectrum and it interacts very well with waveguides.

Before it makes sense to use any more cash on this aspect of your speaker your overall system design, crossover design, cabinet design, and room acoustics should be at a very high level IMO.

SB 26 with either 3D printed or CNC'ed waveguide gets my vote.

Bill , you live in Bankok, why you don't look in Ban Moo area. There is NPE , Paudio, several small shops selling for car as well hifi speakers, High End parts shop . Nearby in Old Siam center on the last floor , there is a high end car audio vendor, he has a US made dome tweeters protected by grills equiped with giganitic magnets.

Ah you know it!
I'm in London now - all spare tweeters are in bangkok.
Ban Mo has one v good shop called First Popular. It's not easy to find. They sell Seas, Wavecor etc. And one other, with your back to Old Siam, walk down and 2nd left alley there is a shop with lots of cabinets in different sizes. I found some gems in there, old stock scan's and a v nice Nakamichi tape deck.
I dont know the shop in Old Siam but will check it out. At Nightingale's opposite, the owner has a collection of vintage tube amps upstairs, MC240 etc. He wont sell.. but you shd have a look
