you should build a REAL power supply like 20,000uf per rail. you will FEEL the bass.
The psu caps are 2200uF Panasonic FC. Compared to my other amps, the bass doesn't suffer much at all. I never listen to rock. mostly to acoustic guitar, jazz, chamber music. However, a beefier (and snubberised) PSU with the suggested 20,000uF caps is one of the things I want to try. I also want to re-do the PCBs so I can fit smaller bypass caps close to the LM3886 pins when I use the larger PSU caps. My first priority is to get the Optivol LDR volume control and buffer functioning, then. . . PSU

Those tiny caps in the power supply are 2200uf?, I thought they were like 10uf or so.Well still not enough for a decent power supply. as you mention above you should try to use a hefty power supply.The chassis looks really nice.😉

hello folks , for this project ( my second one ) I used some old parts a old modem case, a PC power supply, and a old ( 80's ) car amp based on TDA1515b , and I built the 2 channel pre amp with 2 TL072.
so that's it, works fine for my purpose.
for the future, I'm planning to build a more powerfull amp.

Here's few pics for the build- Chipamp was fast in shipping and the circuit boards are really high quality. The build was done over five days. The chassis is 3/8" aluminum base with 1/8" lid and dadoed solid cherry sides. Note the blue illumination around the front panel volume control. The PS LED is cool! (Pot to be added later.) 330VA 25vac Avel with snubberized PS. Rail voltages at +/-35V
Connected it to my speakers, and it sounded better than my aged Hafler, which now has to be modded to regain its sound. Tight bass, clear upper ranges, Voltage sag under heavy bass riff was about 5 volts, but it sounds great.
I'll probably do another, but with multi chips per channel.

The line input cannot be placed so close from the speakers output and power supply input🙂I build this one more than 5 years ago, still in use as amp in the living room. It has a 500VA transformer, soft start and DC/temp protection.

rare to see a STK here...but these were good amps in those days.. I had built a STK435 and STK459 for friends..your's is nicely built.
