A good observation, take on of those big strips and wrap around the manis cable just on the inside of the cabinet/enclosure.
And those chips, do they not need heatsinking ?
I have a switch with remote control in the power outlet.
That one do have a main fuse.
You can`t see it on the picture.
But I will fasten the power cable better.
The chip have an internal cooling and don`t
really need one. It doesn`t get hot at all.

frebar, why no heat sink ? YOU should put at least a piece of metal on there just incase they do get hot. Better safe than sorry with smoking woofers.
My First Chip Amp
Here is an amp I built for my son with his band's logo on the top panel. I used pcbs from chipamp.com. Purchased my own components otherwise. Very happy with the results. Will be used in an apartment system using some very nice Signet bookshelf speakers and a powered 8" sub. Strictly CD based with a decent player.

Thanks, I'm quite happy with it. The pictures don't really do justice to the depth and effect of the paint.
