ChatGPT designed full range speakers

it's nothing but a lazy person's tool
I don't agree with this.

When used well, it's actually a very handy tool in a good workflow.
But like any tool (simulation programs for example) you also need to understand its limits.

If we are on a small rant anyway, you might as well rant more about that people these days don't seem to have a proper foundation of experience and knowledge.
Which makes any tool (even a simple hammer) very dangerous indeed.

This is also the biggest critique that I have on those AI websites and companies.
It's how it's being presented as a "we can solve all your issues", instead of being objective and transparant about it.
That is a conscious choice the creators make.

Sad to see that science is going into that direction.

It's somehwhat bemusing to think that over the next years the student exam grades will shoot up and the students will all seem to brilliant whilst actually being even less well educated - basically as thick as pig's.. ..

Then when these super graduates get a job, they will be dependent on an AI to keep them in their job. Might as well bypass them and give the AIs their jobs. O course this will happen soon enough anyway.

Teachers can make the exams with AI, and rate them with it. Many jobs / tasks become basically fast and cost free and for example school/university institution must evolve with AI so that any education they provide stays relevant.

It is a good thing I think, if time consuming mundane processes like producing text is relieved for some more important tasks, like having more time for a teacher to give personal guidance for students who need it. Although, writing is quite important part of thinking (at least for me) and processing information, for some reason. I guess AI could do the same though, if it knew me personally it could explain anything in such way that I understand it immediately. Or, if I have a thought to process, instead of writing it down I could just discuss about it with AI. Or, if nothing beats writing then it would be silly to skip the writing completely, I could write fast to get the thoughts running and have AI to fix grammar, archive it and so on. It could give feedback and more stuff to read and learn and to think, what ever, reflect back so that my though process went through faster with results that stick. AI is just a tool, better use it to increase your productivity, it's almost like a superpower, and free or almost free to use!

Anyway, what ever happens it's interesting times to be alive 🙂

edit. What comes to loudspeaker design, I'm not sure if it's useful to calculate box size with AI, it's trivial to do it without. It would be more useful if it taught me how to listen, and what to listen, what kind of speaker system would give such sound that I like, that gives maximal enjoyment to me. Or, if it looked my plans and gave a list of trade-offs that are there, that prevent me for having a good sound in my room with my budget etc. Stuff like this, super powers that would skip years of studying things.

You don't need to agree, it's an opinion, you just need to respect it.

AI is starting to be implemented within engineering FEA to complete engineering iterative calculations and give predictive outputs.

This is pure engineering laziness.

We have conventional software that already does this, but it takes some manual inputting of data. Poor engineer has to transfer .txt into a database with a couple of clicks...diddums.

Other issues are AI speech and video manipulation, which is getting to the point where a human will need a geotag to prove it and prevent themselves being conned out of their life savings.

It's already happening to older folks.

Imagine the horror when AI and IOT get together and the AI gets hacked (and the IOT) and suddenly for all the AI and tech, we lose control of....power stations Naval bases, nuclear reactors...

Of course that is the plan of those pyschos in the WEF and most of our governments.

It's not a good development, unless you work with AI.
Explains alot of the opinions around here.

The information isn't written. The collected knowledge doesn't exceed the sum of it's parts, though ever more complex topics are talked about. It takes a human to achieve that.
