hi all,
I have a pair of Acoustat 3
1- I want to lower it by 35 cm from the wood lower base, wife factor is a very difficult issue, is a problematic change could affect the sound dramatically?
2- I want to make it easier for the power amp that drive it; the dc resistance is around
1-2 ohms, the ac impedance is nominal 4 ohms but with severe changes,
so by disconnecting the hi and low branches at the xover input and drive each branch with a separate pwr amp it will reflect a higher impedance for the amps,
So it will be much easier to drive it, I think so.
Best regards,
Williams

Lowering the speaker will deteriorate the sound IMO. I'm not familiar enuff with the 3's and there power supply xover design, I'm not sure you can seperate as easy as you say .
Is the DCR 1 or 2 ohm ?
