@diyiggy
Do they speak english well enough ? Or is it just the beaches and the low cost way of life?

OT but English is the Lingua Franca now that nobody speaks Latin?

People have been to Thailand on holiday and liked the climate, food, and lifestyle?

Thanks for the suggestion @chrisb. Ghent Audio are making aluminium chassis specifically for some amplifier PCBs, with some cabling etc so a bit more complex than I need.

Current we are building preamps using a standard 3207 case :
https://www.ebay.de/itm/273748851771

8mm front panel, 4mm extrusion side and rear walls.
You pay ~70€ ex stock Germany all inclusive.
Same thing at TaoBao 25€ + postage + tax.
In the search for a budget case, I tracked Patrick's suggestion down to Taobao - BRZHiFi aka Foshan Qingfeng Studio 2 (佛山清风工作室2) aka Qingfeng Studio (清风工作室). Their Taobao shop is here: https://breeze-diy.taobao.com/

They have a huge range and it's easy to find a case; the first two digits represent the width, followed by a 0 and the final digit for height in centimetres, up to 9. So 4308 is 430 x 80mm. The 3207 costs CN¥188 + 11 shipping ($28) in China. I ordered a 4309 (¥361, $50) As it's Taobao it's China domestic only, but Superbuy can organise forwarding. This is easier for me atm than German eBay.

At the other end of the scale, I'm still looking for someone to cut and press a custom plain steel case. Preferably in Thailand where I currently am, China, or the UK. No luck finding anyone so far...

We have had complete loss of (direct) shipment from China before.
They only compensated the shipment cost, not the cost of goods.
This is what you pay eBay or AliExpress extra for.
And if anything is not according to description, it is easier to get a refund.

As long as you are aware of the risk ....
