A capacitor is still in the signal path with an interstage transformer, it's in the power supply...

Because of this incredibly common misconception that an interstage transformer magically removes capacitors from the signal path.
We agree that, in an SE amplifier, the power supply capacitor is in the signal path.
The subject here however is about pros and cons of IT, direct and/or RC coupling.

So your post #26 is false. You pulled Claudiomas' remark on death capacitors out of it's context; be aware that English is not his native language, and that it is no so difficult to tackle him on his words.

Perhaps you don't have a lot of experience with transformer evangelists. This was really, really common back in the 90s, when amateur builders would replace a coupling cap with an interstage transformer in a single ended amp and then proclaim that they had "no capacitors in the signal path".
Claudio's statements that he loves transformers and hates capacitors is very reminiscent of this sentiment of working toward no caps in the signal path. You can approach this by using regulated high voltage power supplies, but this requires solid state components, and he has lumped these into the bad category with capacitors.

no i build 3 smps amplifiers, 45/2A3/PP211 transformer coupled its powered by 3 smps 300V500mA for 1200V and PP GM70 transformer coupled also and SE 813 /6BX7 choke plate /6C45PE plate load drive by oil capacitor, some time i use capacitors you see these amplifiers are in this forum.
I'd like to build the CCOS 45 by g. rankin posted above. I have all the iron already on hand except my OPT 's are magnequest parafeed's exo-46's w/ matching chokes also by mike l. Would the circuit be compromised if I were to revise it for parafeed output?
