I am planning to build a CDPro2. Just wondering if I can use Big Ben from Apogee to reclock it?

I am aware that Xo3 will also work, but i am afraid that soldering on those component may wreck my CDPro!

then how would you connect big ben to your CD2pro ?
regards
May be I am wrong, but I have an impression that if I connect the transport with BB through AES, the output from BB will be reclocked?

Hi
That is correct, but my experience shows the major step forward is to replace the master clock with low jitter. Once you've done that you can always reclock SPDIF (using that same master clock)
it is cheaper as well.....
cheers
Thanks Guido,
I have come across a few pictures on this site

but the pictures of the "syrgery" is not enlargable. How likely do you think this tweak will damage the PCB of the CDPro?

Hi
It all depends on your skills and experience, I've done a few, and many daisy customers did as well, no problems reported so far
If you are in doubt, do not do it unless you find a skilled person beside you.
cheers
