Hello All,
My Cambridge Audio Azur 640C CD out of blue start sliding CD tray back and forth as soon as I load the CD in...
Time to change laser head? I hope not, I have maybe 50hrs tops! on this CD player
Regards
Aram

More likely a problem with any tray in/out microswitches. You will have to look at how it senses tray movement and make sure all the switches are OK. Also make sure the laser pickup is in the normal rest position.
Hello Mooly.
Thanks for reply.
I never realize that to open this CD player I will need a Torx driver, end up looking for specialized store.
So I got the T6 driver, took the cover off...
When I plug the power, I noticed that CD motor start spinning for about 20sec, and it stopped, then laser assembly moved down, and I got "NO Disk" massage on the screen.
Then I open and close tray few times, and it was working with no issues.
I placed the CD then, and it works flawlessly.
Do you possibly know what may cause that?
One of the pictures shows the microswitches, are this the switches that you are talking about or there is more
Thanks
Aram

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Yes those are the microswitches. There could be more, probably one that signals when the pickup is at the rest position (so it would be near the spindle motor)
This shows how to clean microswitches but be careful if you unsolder them, it doesn't take much heat to melt the plastic. Use a hot iron and solder braid.
