Thanks for all the help Lee.

Cant think of a name for the new pet yet, any ideas?

I'll leave the player on repeat for a couple of days and report back. Doing my first mods was scary. I was s*** scared it wouldnt work! When I powered it up and everything was fine I was soo relieved. Interestingly I noticed I get more 'volume' from my system now. The 9 oclock position is equivalent to 9:30 on the volume knob.

Glad to hear it all went ok. Patience is defo needed, just taking your time and never, ever rushing. Do you use solder wick to remove the solder?

I left my player with Brent to play around with, he's going to try and modify my discrete output stage to work with the dac. Fingers crossed there.

Regards, Lee.

How about Azurpig? Not too bad. lol

I only have a solder sucker at the moment. Nxt time will defo use solder wick. The nozzle on the sucker is too big to get in close and remove all the solder. May even get a chisel tip for my iron also. Better for PCB's.

Guys.

Please take a look at the image below and let me know what you think. Thanks.

I run the regs on the V2 @ 15V as the heat generated was too high @ 12V.

The green caps are on the output of the regs for the dac digital 5V. I uses ZLH caps here, FC would probs be ok too.

C84 C63 C66 C74 are non polar decoupling caps for the 2 V refs on each dac chip. It would be a good idea to change these for something like a BG N (10uF 16V).

BG Nx are the best caps to use on digital rails, no doubt.

So ulimately the above caps should be Blackgate N/Nx? Had a look on theHiFiCollective site and couldnt find 10uF 16v, only 10uF 50v? Any ideas where I can get them?

Hi Brent,

I'm a newbie on these DIY mod and I like to mod my 604c v1 and I like to get a few things from you.

1)What frequency should I chose for the C1 Master Clock?
2)If I change the opamp to LM4562na, do I change the grey caps to BG 10uf 16v just like you did on your 604c v2 for my 604c v1?
3)What values of BG caps should I get to replace the two big caps rated 2200uf 35v?
4)How many S-power regulators do I need to change for my 604c v1 to have a noticeable difference and should I chose 5v?
5)Can you please PM me on the shipping to Hong Kong on the items above.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Cheers, Kevin
