I think he was specifically comparings IC's with discrete designs in that tirade I.e opamps were no good for high end audio it had to be discrete.
The discretes fabricated on what process not using the same dirty sand?
I think it was after I gave him this advice that he got really pee'd off

I have a few. Hype. Self-promotion. Intellectual dishonesty.
Sadly, I believe many are not being intellectually dishonest. I'm pretty sure my next door neighbor, who is always telling me about the intruders living in her attic and under her house is being intellectually honest, and isn't just seeking attention.

Richard, according to fundamental principles of physics, there can't be anything there. So what are you going to verify? That science as we know it is based on flawed principles? Or that you are as susceptible to expectation bias as the next Joe?
Verify that I cannot hear anything change. On the other-hand if I had them, I could also measurement and come to a conclusion. But according to what SY and others have said, there is nothing to be measured either so nothing to be heard (pure, small R only). Its a trust issue, I guess. So I'd find out for myself.
But in reality, I'll never see one, buy one or test nor listen to it. Just was what I would do if I was so inclined to learn for myself.... measure and listen. I dont have much faith in some people here so i would redo it all for myself. Until then, I have no position on the subject.

I am glad to see Charles Hansen's input from 2007. He used to contribute here back then, but you guys chased him away. Bybee is still going strong, and nothing said here has proved anything useful.

Yes, that's true if your idea of "useful" is "spreading BS for fun and profit."
Quad erat demonstrandum 🙄So setting the caps down next to the amplifier unconnected (on wooden blocks of course) was an improvement???
People have to try things, with an open mind, and note the results. That is what Charles did in 2007, and what we both do today in order to compete in the audio design race. IF rubber ducks worked the same way that Charles found wood to change the sound for the better, I'm sure he would recommend rubber ducks, even if he never made a cent from rubber ducks. Charles, found that wood worked, and that some types of wood were better at doing whatever they were doing, so he offered people some wood blocks to try themselves. However, he also recommended some commercial wooden blocks that did much the same, that people could buy from a toy store. Where is the 'profit' here?
Even the concept of an open mind is an illusion here, there is always some context and expectation in such things..................... with an open mind........
Rubber ducks, for example, have context !
context
Bad, bad ducky !

You misspelled "exploitation."
Mr. Curl, I think your post #828 answers its own question, both explicitly and implicitly.
SY, I've been giving serious consideration to my involvement on this forum, and it was heartening to see those two words, "intellectual dishonesty," brought to the fore. But as for another couple of words you typed, "absolute evil," I think this was unnecessary hyperbole. I'd prefer to save that for the Angel Resendiz and Jeffery Dahmer types.
These audio guys are more like used car salesmen.

See I gave away a huge commercial opportunity for free, just think of repackaging Jenga as an audiophile accessory at 5000% markup and it would still look cheap as tweaks go.

I take your point. Enstupidation for fun and profit disproportionately annoys me.
(trivia : the direct translation from Dutch for that term is enstumpidation. with sufficient enough fools, one requires an official word)
Jenga blocks appear to only cost about $13. What a bargain, IF they do something useful! Anybody here willing to try?
