I actually was reading through the questions and answers on the product page, and it turns out it has a non-adjustable 18 Hz filter, so I actually should be fine on that.
Not sure if you realize this but the HT fanatics really like IB. 3 x B52 on a simple manifold vented in HT room. Quite simple to do actually.
While I'm here... My daughter's DJ rig is this sub: Amazon.com: BEHRINGER Black (VQ1800D): Musical Instruments
Makes some funky noises at times. Was convinced driver was blown but its not. OK at low volumes. Probably a coil rub or other defect. I sim'd and appears to be decent but concerned with all the talk that this blowout driver is not cool for reflex. Any thoughts?

Hey Sam,
I agree that IB would be ideal for this, but that's not an option for me since I don't own the house. I wouldn't really consider myself a HT fanatic, anyway, I'm mostly more about 2-channel, so this will serve double-duty. Can't speculate on the problems you're having, but someone else may be able to help. I do know that this driver, when sold by B-52, is actually used in a tapped horn.

OK. No IB then near field it is. Not really familiar with the B52 stuff but don't see how that can get around the Danley patent. 😀 B52 looks awfully FLH and Cerwin-like to me.
Nearfield sub for me is basically furniture. A narrow couch length and height box firing into the couch. A little easier on the room acoustic side too. Less modal influence. I would make it just higher than the couch and add a shelf for decor purposes.
