SENSATIONAL BAF THANKS diyAUDIO COMMUNITY !:)
:D:D:D:D:D Have nice day :D:D:D:D:D

Second part of Mr. Pass' presentation at BAF2013 shows a beautiful JFET preamp circuit. It's simple but very good and endlessly tweak-able.
Still, nobody mentions it here.
Guys, you are missing a seriously good preamp circuit...

Yes, Juma, I heard it in the talk, but I could not see it in the first video....
I suppose it was on the later videos......
Thanks for the picture!

what is behind Nelsons head, or what is in Nelsons head hidden?....:D:D
Reminded me of the front end for the ampliimos amplifier by mos57 [thread F6; post #4999. This circuit by Mr. Pass is all FET while that of mos57 used FETS and bjts.

Antoinel already has me anticipated. Even while watching the 3-part wonder in action yesterday (yes, 3 parts!) I was plotting and scheming about a sleazy fake version, and remarked as such to 6L6, as he was standing next to me at the time. I have two greasy, sleeeeeezy flavors in mind - one with transformer (expensive - those Jensen transformers don't come cheap, even on Flea-bay) and cheap (more parts, pernicious feedback, but no need for tweaking to balance DC).
I inadvertently preempted the idea to L'Fake Mr. Pass's Sony VFET CS amp. Please see thread F6 post 5119. Clearl, your teaching and fingerprints are all over the proposed schematic.

Best regards

Nice no NFB complementary Folded Cascode topology....
Nelson forgot to indicate the PS voltage in that slide: +/-45V
FYI JFets are selected for 15 mA Idss

Behind Papa's head: 1.5k + 4.7k + 4.7k node referred to gnd

Massimo,
thank you very much for filling in the values behind Papas head! :):)

I cannot believe such a high voltage of +- 45V for the J-Fets, at least not for the Toshiba version, would they not break down? and such a high Idss?
