Burning Amp 2024!

Also, has anyone walked from the Petaluma Fairgrounds (where the airport bus stops) to the Best Western? Is that reasonable? (I tried looking on google maps and it's an overpass and the sidewalk situation looks a bit unclear)
I walked it last year and lived to tell the tale. There is a sidewalk along E Washington ST. The only sketchy part is where you cross the entrance/exit to Hwy 101. Definitely be vigilant there. There are marked crosswalks and pedestrian lights, but drivers there don't seem to know what pedestrians are so make eye contact.

Walking to the Community Centre from Best Western is fine. Just don't walk along the main highway. I walked east one block and took the roads less traveled. It made for a pleasant walk.

And if you plan to walk after dark, consider wearing brightly coloured clothing or something reflective to increase the odds of survival.

I am curious about this inductor's self-resonant frequency.
If you happen to own a Quasimodo or Cheapomodo test jig, those could tell you pretty quickly. Just review the contents of the Quasimodo Design Note's Appendix C ("Using Quasimodo and math"), then set up an experiment like Figure 17, and measure the Zenductor2 inductor that-a-ways. Voila, the self resonant frequency pops out.

Another somewhat related question: suppose it turns out some of us amp campers with two ears actually do like the Zenductor II amp. Can we buy a second one? Or do we have to bargain or fight amongst ourselves (the amp campers)?

@Gruesome I'm sure you get two monoblock Zenductor II amps if you're "two ears" comment referred to stereo sound. That was the case with last year's Zenductor Amp Camp.

Twice the building fun! The only question you need to consider is do you build one completely, then the other, or build both simultaneously 😆

Speaking of two amps, I'll be bringing two freshly finished ACA Mini's to do some AB testing with anyone's speakers who are willing. One is stock build and the other has @ClaudeG modifications. Otherwise they are identical builds (ok, the 3D printed feet are different colors).

After doing some AB listening Saturday, they will be donated in memory of @Toys4Boys (Mark Ozdoba) to the event (raffle or auction based on preference of event hosts).

Both have had music played for a little over an hour and they both sound great even on my cheapo test speakers. They each include a 5A SMPS PSU (not shown).

Details: Cardas Quad Eutectic Solder, Vishay Dale Resistors, All resistors lifted off board, custom 3D printed feet, both biased per article to 0.3V for Vb and 11.5V for Vo. Boards were cleaned top and bottom thoroughly many times during the build with MG Chem 413B (they are shiny clean).

Decisions, decisions... next year can you guys please make it so that we can both do the Speaker And Amp Camp builds?

There really isn't a good way to make that happen, unless we run multiple camps both days, and that's probably past what demand could carry.

Is there a way to get my hands on the Speaker? As a kit?

Yes. There's most likely going to be a kit in the auction. Bring your big wallet and you can outbid everybody. All proceeds will to to BAF.

You will receive and build a stereo pair at camp.

There should be a set in the raffle or auction for lucky bidder.

they will be donated in memory of @Toys4Boys (Mark Ozdoba) to the event

Wait... Mark has passed??? That's a serious bummer, he was a great guy.
A very nice gesture have something in his memory.
